P1000 Strapping spare to roof

About to head to CO in a week. I would like to bring my spare on the rides as we are rolling solo this trip. The bed is already full with dogs and cooler etc. has anyone strapped a spare on the OEM roof for a ride? Trails are not technical or tight so no issues with branches etc. open to suggestions. Hopefully I’ll have a rear tire mount for next summer.

Years back just before we built the bus I tried to ask a few questions on one of those forums and I’d say there is a different group of people there. You have to conform. Not much thinking outside the box and everything has to be by the book even if it’s wrong.
Got sick of being told things won’t work by some that haven’t the ability to do anything but overpay someone to do it for them yet not get any answers out of the people with some knowledge.

Just back from doing 475 miles in CO and no issues with it on the roof.. I still want a tire carrier though..
