Got one on my P1K too. No issues so far and cost compared to others is a pretty good deal. Not sure if it’s the same on the 500 but on mine it’s a few pieces that go together to make the skid plate. Would’ve preferred less of a jigsaw puzzle and more of a single skid plate.

I modified one to fit on a p500 and it’s a nice skid plate. Worth it to me since the alternatives where around 800$ I have have had it for two months and it’s pretty solid, slippery enough to slide over logs.

If your serious about protection from rocks then I would recommend getting a skid plate that has a lip on the out side edge.
I went with SSS off road, they have been the gold standard for the P500 skids but they are significantly more than the $400 range.

You can see the damage to the step pipe in front of the rear tire, the area covered by the skid plate lip looks worse.
This was done before I added the skid.
The lip makes the skid plate stiff and it dose a good job of supporting the step pipe when the vehicle drops on a rock.
Also, you don't want the bottom to look like swiss cheese, a solid surface to drag across the rocks works better.

I stole this picture from @futzin in the take over thread, this is my idea of 'rocks'.

If money is no object, I would agree that the SSS is a nice skid plate. In the grand plan for my P520, I couldn't see that the additional $400 was worth it to me. As nice as it would have been to have the extra lip, $400 buys you a lot of extras like power steering or a locker, or turn signals...

Well it's installed. SuperATV Skid-PLate. Thank the lucky stars no broken bolts removing the OEM skid-plate. A couple hours work by myself taking my time. Heavy duty for sure but time will tell. All shiny and unscathed. And thanks for all the advice. ;)

Hopefully you applied some anti seize to those skid bolts? You may not be so lucky next time.
A very light coating of Nickel Anti-Seize. Been using it for years on the Harley slip-ons. Of the original bolts one was really tight, three or four were finger tight and the rest had average torque. One of the new bolts with spacer was sketchy going in.

I did the same just before TO in June.. and It has worked well for me. However, I am a more cautious rider.

It was an economical & availability choice for me.. The SSS version in the 2 piece main panel with Front and side rock sliders is $999.00. If you bump it up to the one piece main with the with both rock sliders it is $1,399.00!! When I ordered my SuperATV version, the SSS was on back order and I was not going to RRB with the pop can junkie skid! Very glad I did not!

No complaints so far.. except for the previously mentioned installation instruction errors. I stand by my choice.

Nice looking skid plate. Made my own in 2014/15 there were no alternatives that made sense to me at the time. Bought some UHMW Pe in black, using basic wood working tools and the stocker for a pattern. It’s held up incredibly well for the abuse it’s taken. Almost 10mm thick and didn’t include as many holes as stock version. Counter sunk stock washers and bolts. All you need is drill, drill bits, hole saws, skill saw and maybe sharp wood chisels.
