A few updates ..... I'll let the pictures tell the story

Added a solenoid to control power from the aux battery



Added two voltmeters in a small watertight project box attached low on he dash. Not 100% sure on this but they are out of the way.



Added Mudbusters ....





And added some "bling" from @drfubar and UTV Graphics






The switch on the left controls the aux battery solenoid.

Looks awesome! You'll really like those Mudbusters. Cuts way down on cleanup if you ride in mud much.

No pics but have been knocking out a few things prior to my trek to Windrock this weekend. Slimed the tires, assembled my gear kit (tire plugs, compressor, rigging, cooler), and extended a few breathers to roof line. I did not bother with front diff and fan since they dead ended into the frame cross bar below the windshield .... have no intent on going that deep.

Now that I have said that, I'll probably need scuba gear at least once this weekend :-(

Tire and Wheel comparison:

Initial thoughts based upon a quick 5 mile run around the block

1). I can see that anything bigger will rub under full compression on the front - heck these may rub

2). Man, these suckers are quiet ... and the handling is much better at similar pressure ... way less body roll and I could hear myself think at 56 MPH.

3). Not sure of the relative cause: incremental unsprung weight, slightly taller gearing, or increased aerodynamic drag from the other mods but I seem to have lost a bit of top end speed. At those speeds aero has more impact ... but I could only make 58 indicated ... but man was the ride smooth and quiet.


Speaking of quiet, the subtrans is quiet. I could not believe how quiet it is. Yeah, there is gear noise but the pics of these gears I have seen tell me they are cut for strength not quietness. I have been in a lot of vehicles with worse gear noise. Only time will tell, but I may have dodged a bullet .... or I may get wiped out in a few hundred miles .....
