I fouind this to be the most confusing. You are in nuetral and then magically in park. But i did not have a white paint mark.
Check your messages.

Thanks, that helped. So this pioneer is a customers. We only test that it had a grinding reverse. Replaced reverse. Everything lines up. Forward, reverse. All but one thing, low. Gear selector shows "L". Rev it up and we go nowhere. By replacing reverse could I have done something to take out low? We never tested low before. Is there something special to push to make it go in low?

I agree! If I was running a shop, $75 for a factory manual is a drop in the bucket. Yes it is hard to buy manuals for every vehicle coming into your shop, but a Pioneer 1000 manual will cover all 4 years. Only differences are wiring diagrams. I would never tear into a customers machine without a service manual beside me for proper torque specs.
