Finally got some time home and finished this project. Well, almost finished. Still waiting on the thumb screws. I’ll do 2-3 per door and that should be enough.

Passenger side panel. If someone cared they could color the rivets.

Rivet up top for the chain.

Not too bad.

This is what I fit in the passenger door.

Thoughts:

It’s easy to get to. In the past I was required to remove ratchet straps or bungees that held the boxes down in the bed. Now it’s just a couple thumb screws and dig for it.

The hinge needs washers for backing inside the door.

The hinge needs spacers between the colored panel and the hinge. I used some small #10 nuts.

I bought 10 thumb screws. I’ll keep extra in the glove box. Extra could be used for trailering.

I would double bag the toilet paper.

Happy to see the piano hinge worked!
How is the door function/swing with the added weight?

Thanks for the input, it works great.

As for the added weight, it’s no problem. The Honda hinges are beefy and actually the door now sounds more solid. Time will tell if it causes an issue but I doubt it.

The thumb screws arrived. I think it will work good. I bought six, two for each door and two spare in the glove box.

I cut some of the screw off so I didn’t have to thread it so far. Then I used a shoulder nut so it captures the plastic.

The shoulder nuts have loctite on them.

Here is the pieces I bought. I thought these would have less chance of hanging since they are round versus a wing nut.

The 16mm length would be better as I had to cut the 20mm length.

Come on now joey.

You wouldn't have been happy if you had something that you could use "right out of the box!"

Just an update:

So the rear door storage is working out great. Definitely a worthy mod for those interested.

Also, I upgraded the wetsounds 6” to the 8” sub. It was an eBay find said to be a display unit. Sounds a little better and still fits with the dash storage kit.

I called my local dealer and got the clutch update parts on the way. Hopefully it will be here early next week. Also called Reduction Boss and put my name on the waiting list for the IGR.

This should be a fun month in March!
