Thought I saw someone mention removing some of the engine cover panels helps disperse some engine heat. I'm guessing that may only apply to the 3-seater.

I have not found a fan no bilge pump that will last more that 1 or 2 rides under my seat I just gave up and sit a cooler in the middle with more cold beer.

Your fans keep burning up?

Anyone else have that problem?

I do not work for and am not affiliated in any way with YETI products or company but dang, when it comes to keeping stuff cold for long periods, these products cannot be beat IMHO. The little 20-quart cooler weighs a ton (even when empty) but gets the job done line no other I've found. Throw food/beer and ice in that thing and you're good for three days.

Yeti, Engel, and a few more brands are all pretty dam good at holding ice. We have a Yeti 105, and just picked up a 20. Both are amazing.
The 105 sat in the bed of my Viking for 3.5 days on my Magruder ride. (early August... very warm)
Still had a bunch of ice when we got back to the trucks. Pretty impressive.

For what it’s worth, I had 2 of the cheapo amazon bilge fans under my seat for the last year and a half. They have been submerged underwater countless times, ya mine may not get ran as much as much as some of the guys in the south. But i think even if they were to go out on me on this weekends ride, for the price I would buy another pair

I'm officially a fan of the fan now, installed mine this evening, tried every thing else, it helped, but didn't cure the issue. I already had the fuse box, wire and connectors . Cost me $ 40.00 and it works great!

Used a 8" radiator fan with thermostat, Plenty of heat insulation under the seat, and fabricated piece to cover the exhaust pipes. Check out the rear heat shield thread. Have pictures there. Be sure to wrap the exhaust pipes completely all the way back to the muffler and use dynamat on the bottom of the shield. Looked at the new design Polaris 1000 and they have a lot of wrap on their pipes, so it must not be a Honda-only problem that I thought it was. The shield was the last thing I did and it made as much or more difference than everything else combined. All is good now.

Have you tested it on a longer ride? How well does it work?
To be honest with you, I do not go on long rides. The heat was mostly tolerable for me. While I was adding some other items, horn, back up alarm, winch, switches, etc. I made this mod as well. I found others who had posted this type of mod and thought it was the best route, so I went with it.

link to good video of one like it.
