I've installed a voltmeter but not in place of the cig lighter port, just added it on the dash
I was thinking of using the power port because there is not much room on the dash and I can use the wiring that's already in place .I've installed a voltmeter but not in place of the cig lighter port, just added it on the dash.
Did you use the power port location for the install? I what to use existing wiring.Yeah! Bought one on amazon and it seems to work OK, good for a quick check on battery charging while engine is running plus
the usb outlet comes in handy!
Then suggest the OEM sub-harness, use one of the 4 hot leads. Installed my voltmenter in the upper dash, between display and glove box.Did you use the power port location for the install? I what to use existing wiring.
The unit I bought goes in the existing 12v outlet under the dash.Did you use the power port location for the install? I what to use existing wiring.
Great I checked out that 12v outlet today it seems like a perfect fit and location. Thanks...easy install. The unit I bought goes in the existing 12v outlet under the dash.
That'll work in a single battery setup, of course, but not a dual battery setup. My quick voltmeter/ usb installation. Easy solution and can use the original rubber cover on the power point. $10 part.....

Which is exactly what I was implying. Sorry if I confused anyone by not specifically stating that. 😜Will work with an isolator setup as well but only voltage on one of them.

Understood and thanks. You just have to remember you're in the 500 threads. Isolators, burnt clutches, bilge fans, ECU relearns, not fitting through gates... none of that really applies over here.
