My brother has a bush cutter. Stilh With a blade on , it will cut little trees. Good for keeping trails open. All the saws, except Stilh, are made in the hills of N C , and here , The carbs have to be set for sea level. So they run crappy till they get reset. And they are all made by Huskavarna. I think. And made a lot cheaper. Stilh is the only one still by itself. These damn companies can’t leave well enough alone. Haha

Ive got an Echo trimmer I swap a brush kit on when I need to cut brush. I will never own another stihl product as long as I live.

I've been very happy with my Husky stuff. I have a 360XP (18") that I keep on the machine all the time. My Husky trimmer has the removable end shaft, so I have the trimmer, the hedge trimmer, and the pole saw attachments. All work really well.

Echo makes great stuff too.. my backpack blower is an Echo. That sucker is amazing..

Stihl is pissing me off too!

why is that, you normally hear the opposite.

i would be the guy that cuts my foot off, always hurting myself not thinking. got burn marks all up my arms from loading wood, when i first got the 361 almost cut my leg off with it, i was just tired from holding on to it all day but i wanted to get it done and the saw bucked up cut through my artic carharts and jeans and scratched my leg in about half a second. alot more careful when i have that one in my hand know

Their products are sucking anymore. I’ve had nothing but trouble with saws, leaf blowers hedge trimmers and weed eaters alike the last several years.

When you say Husky, is that Huqvarna? Jonsered was the saws that gave me the best service.

My Stihl trimmer had 10 minutes of run time in 5 years. Stihl was no help and it spent hours in the shop. Nobody could figure how why that thing wouldnt run. You could pull the rope till you died of a heart attack.
We had a stihl 044 at one duty station I worked at that new out of the box wouldnt run right. If you didnt get it started the first pull then it would not start the rest of the day. My husky saws have never seen the shop. I need to probably take one in. Dropped a tree on it and the kill switch doesnt work but you can choke it out.

Personally Stihl is all we have had for at least 20 years and we love them. 3 chain saws, a pole saw, a weed eater,2 leaf blowers,1 electric and 1 gas. We do have a 4 inch water pump and a generator and they are both Honda.Stihls have been very good to us.

If you check the forums on this, everybody’s complaining about the drop in quality of stihl, no more all alloy, lots of plastic, $18.00 throw away carbs, their smaller saws have gone to one stud holding the bar on etc.. the post 2011 EPA regulations have compromised performance because the companies don’t want to invest in R&D to keep up.

I think they are all made by the same company now. Just different names. A guy selling husky said they were made now in NC and at altitude, so most saws have to be readjusted in the carb. Here it’s sea level. Mine works good now.

Husqvarna, Jonsered and Poulan are all the same saw, just assembled in different places and different colours. Most parts made in China. Keep in mind, China can make excellent stuff, depends on spec's from the company ordering that stuff.
