I hope you get you some sunshine and blue sky real soon...🤞
Just stay in the cab during rotation.........😉I wrapped up a really nice fishing rod with an ice auger once...does that count? Still don't know why it happened. Don't trust an auger.
Mine has about a 4' handle on the back to guide the tip of the auger. Problems I've had is rocks and roots get in the way of putting the hole where you want/need it. I have two hyd hook ups in the rear but have never done a cylinder to control where the tip of the auger hit the ground. My old Ford was much easier to use with an auger with no cab but the air and heat is worth having and dry and warm is priceless in the Winter...short sleeves and not a parka and ski pants.Just stay in the cab during rotation.........😉

Life is easier with a tractor. But then...you need to buy all kinds of "stuff" to make the tractor do what you want. Back hoe's are wonderful. Most stuff gets broken from time to time so you gotta spend time and money fixing stuff. I have a 30 year old box scraper that I have tried over and over to break and have not been able to do it.I want a tractor.

My brother has a JC with the backhoe attachment. He takes the bucket off in winter and puts his double stack snowblower on. He lives in Margaree in Cape Breton. Usually get lots of snow.Life is easier with a tractor. But then...you need to buy all kinds of "stuff" to make the tractor do what you want. Back hoe's are wonderful. Tractors are also dangerous...not sure how it happened but somehow the arm on the 3 pt hitch dropped on my left hand. The "hand doc" spent 7 hours and almost 100 micro sutures later and it was kinda fixed...works ok but still don't have any feeling in my fingers which makes holding things difficult. If my hand was turned 90 degrees when it happened it would have just cut it off above the wrist. I remind myself of that every time I drop something that I can't feel.
Tractor's are wonderful things!!!
Oh I get aggravated as hell when that happens and put the auger up. I won’t do rocks. It’s dangerous, tears up equipment and often ends with no hole or a hole off line. It’s post hole digger and Arkansas toothpick at that point and occasionally an HD hammer drill.Mine has about a 4' handle on the back to guide the tip of the auger.
