I guess since Trail Armor makes you piece meal the A-Arm & Trailing Arm guards in addition to the main Skid, I could just order those items from FUTV as those items offer much better coverage for said items.

I'm sure Trail Armor has learned much in past 9 years, but I played guinea pig Dec 2015 with their P1K skids and pieces kept getting ripped off, still got a side piece missing in Tackett Creek from Oct 2016, wasn't as worried about it as I was the 2 broken axles and burnt clutch pack from that day ;)
Thanks for the info, I'll give them a look over since they are $1700 full set vs. $1995 FUTV w/o X brace.

I like how the FUTV trailing arm guards fully surround the trailing arms on both sides and bottom vs. Trail Armor only covers bottom and outside. The rocks where I live just wait for an open space underneath. See pic comparison...

I'm not crazy with the way these trailing arm guards mount to the trailing arm. Ricochet's cover both sides and the bottom and pinch mount from the top. definitely wouldn't mount those with self tapping screws. Ricochet also uses existing factory mount points and machined clamps (3) where there aren't factory mounts. I've had a customer junk several machines due to this after an OSHA inspection (self tapping screws into the ROPS when mounting windscreens). Ricochet's trailing arm guards are powder coated steel as well.

Those trailing arm guards are going to pack with mud and have you hating life. If you are banging the sides of the trailing arms off rocks constantly you might want to pick better lines.
Every single A-Arm guard front and rear has been a mud collection point for me, still run them for protection, the trailing arms will be less of a collection point from my view. There is always a trade off for every decision made. I'll wash off the mud.

Maybe you could come to East TN and show me those lines you get to pick from in TX

@Tramguage1 on the TUSK rear seat cargo platform plates from Rocky Mountain ATV, it appears there is some room under the plates in footwell area, is it large enough underneath to store items like the Milwaukee air compressor and recovery straps, etc. ?

I look forward to the video of you running your 4 seat Talon down that same trail. 🤣

The places I wheel look exactly like yours. I live in the trees, hills and rocks part of Texas and also wheel in OK and AR fairly often where there are also trees, hills and rocks. My plan with the KRX is to weld AR 500 plate to the bottoms of my trailing arms when the time comes to protect them, but honestly with their high clearance design they do a good job of staying off rocks and I'm sure will be even less of a concern when I throw the 35s on it. AR500 cut offs are cheap and last almost indefinitely vs expensive plastic that can and will tear and wear out.

Yes sir, on the Overland in put cases of water under there. Also I put dry bags with other items in the footwear. I also have thought about getting a fuel can that would fit there.

Thanks for the clarification / verification.

Why not get the 10-80 trail tank and add 4.2 gal of capacity and be done with it? Should allow for around 225 miles of range.

I think having the extra capacity in tank vs hanging on the machine somewhere is a much better idea. Saftey wise I'm not a fan of hanging flammable liquid on a machine in the event of a rollover that could potentially rupture or pop one of those roto packs open.

I have these in all of the Talons. I've looked for the P1K5 but have yet to find anyone offering. These tanks diminish the anxiety when the fuel gauge starts fluctuating from 1/2 - 1/4 - Fuel Light Flickering. If you ever consider installing Raceco's Trailing Arm Brace Kit, make sure and do so when installing the tank. Very easy with tank removed, completely impossible without removing the Trail Tank. I also have these on the Talons along with the rear radius arm Double Shear Braces from Bosman Design

I wouldn't say it's impossible, just not something I'm doing again. 🙃

That black looks good. Nice addition to your rigs and another to your long list of rigs from past to present.

Lots of room down there but a small hole to fit it. I’ve thought about trying to hinge the tray or something to make it more accessible but never have. I only use them when overlanding

Yeah, my use for the plates is a platform for the dogs. I would only put stuff down there that would be needed in case of a flat, f-up, etc.

I found a storage box for the back that is allegedly 60 gal (NOT Liters) capacity, that's what I would use for regular access.

But looking at it, not certain the spec is correct as it doesn't appear larger than the Honda OEM box that is 90 liters.

I actually picked up a 2 seat fuelmtank and have planes to install it under the passenger front seat. Then purchase the OEM plastic piece that is used in the 2 seater.
