Happy Birthday Bowtie! 27 right? ;)

27 and holding....for about 8 years. Went out for a night ride and sliced a front tire. Gonna try to get it fixed in the morning. I've been thinking about a spare but this makes me realize that it's a necessity.

Got rid of the stockers a long time ago. Currently got 6 ply OG Bighorns. My front tires and rims are BEAT! Alot ot the P5 owners were talking about how rough the P5 ride at Takeover was but that was a mild ride for us. Been very lucky with the og bighorns till now.

Got a tube put in my tire this morning so we are back on the road. Probably gonna put a new tire on the front and use this one as my spare. Also my brakes are squealing non stop now so if they will last one more day I will be replacing them as soon as we get home.

We also had a 6 foot black rat snake in our cabin which the wife found first unfortunately. We heard something thrashing in the wall. I beat on the wall and it quit. A few minutes later it and a chipmunk came flying out of the wall under the porch where she was setting. . I relocated it to the next campsite over but she still ain't liking the thought of spending 2 more nights in the cabin.

I've been adjusting my clutch but I can't get it just right. As soon as I think I have it fixed it will act up again. When I'm coasting downhill it will act like it's in neutral and take off before it catches and throw you forward.

I never tell my wife about black snakes living in the flower bed or shop!

I am going to attempt this again. I got my 2017 P500 in mid March just in time for spring turkey season. If you live in Central Florida and if you are in the market check out R C Hill Powersports in Deland. They had the best price on my P500 and my son's Rubicon.

I installed a Honda roof, hard windshield (tip up), front storage tray, rear cargo tray and rearview mirror. Last week in installed a Warn winch using a KFI mount plate. Today I extended my vent lines except the gas tank becouse some dummy got the wrong size line. LED lights are next.

I haven't been able to play as the water is to bad at camp. So hse has become my new Barn Queen.

Oh, l did get a turkey. Not the boss of the swamp but a nice 2 year old bird.

I would like to thank everyone who posted their projects and "how too's" it sure made mine a lot easer.

Thanks again and play safe.

We have some recreational land about 40 miles from our home, where we do most of our riding. The wife has always complained about having to potty in the woods. I got her a potty seat and lid that attaches to a 5 gallon bucket, color coordinated to match the P500 of course. They sell liners for the bucket, but being a cheapskate, I just cut the bottom out. She was not amused, and sent me back to the store for the liners. I was going to tell her it was an early anniversary present, but I decided, I would be a dead man walking.

I also got a good deal on a very used 20 ft. shipping container (again color coordinated) so I could leave the P500 and the Honda Recon out on the property and not have to trailer out every time. We call it the “Pil Box”. According to the ID plate, it was owned by Pacific International Lines.

By the way, anyone who can decipher the license tag gets to use the potty at no charge if you ever come to visit.

My P5 got some new tires today! 27” Tusk Terrabites (Rocky Mountain ATV). I wanted to get something a little more aggressive than stock, a bigger size but what wouldn’t tear up the yard (we use our P5 for a lot of chores - spreading manure, fertilizer etc). I really liked Interco Interforce’s for when I’m out on the ranch but those are too much for around the house.

I haven’t been able to try them out much yet. However, the ride is noticeably improved over the stock tires. They are stout but don’t ride rough. I’m really pleased with the size.

There is a noticeable increase in height from the larger tire size. I didn’t think about it giving the P5 a lift but I really like it. It’s obvious enough that I can tell riding fencelines, getting in and out etc. I’ll post more about them after I put them through their paces.

Finally got the SSS skids plates put on as well as the Walker Evans suspension. While I was working on those items, the 1/2 windscreen and soft roof were delivered so I had to throw them on as well. And now, just got everything squared away for a weekend trip to Copper Harbor Michigan. Going to get in a little mountain biking, and then try camping from the P500. Hoping to be out of here by tomorrow evening.

How did you attach the gas can to the Kolpin box? I've got my gas can inside the box at the moment but everything else in there smells even though the container doesn't leak. Did you bolt it thru the wall of the Kolpin box and is there a stronger part of the wall for this?

That box, as Kolpin says. Has a stronger front plate that will acomidate there Kolpin jr gas cans. The only thing is they no longer make them. I found the cans I have on eBay. But they are NOW no longer available also, at least out of stock. So far it seems stronger but I reinforced my bracket with more bolts and fender washers. If you look at my P5 build in my garage, I detailed that with pics. I would assume a rotopax 1 gal can or a fuelpax 1.5 can would work there also. Just more pricey. Also, some gas cans will expel fumes naturally so it dosnt blow up. I personally would not put a gas can in an inclosed area like that box for that reason could be very Disastrous so be careful;)
