It's heavy steel and the riveting is early-mid nineteenth century. Anybody have any ideas on what it is???
Thanks locoboilerguy, did you see the pic that Iowaguy posted in response???There are no mounting points for it being from a steam tractor and it wouldn't be a locomotive boiler for the same reason along with its going to be generally rated for lower pressure than a locomotive. Its basically a stationary power supply from the 19th or early 20th century to run a hoist, compressor or generator. They are quite common in many parts of the west. Its seen a number of repairs as you can see by the patches around the mudring and someone has whacked the tubes out undoubtedly to use them for another purpose. For one left in the wilds that one has more repairs than I have seen on others. They are always fun to look at.
Yes I did. Very familiar with them. Thanks locoboilerguy, did you see the pic that Iowaguy posted in response???

Lately I've noticed a persistent squealing noise when riding, so I pulled a front wheel and found my front pads need to be replaced. 1200 miles on the originals. I don't think that's anything to be upset about. I'll take some pics when I get the new pads
