Ha! You give it a shot and let me know how that works out for you! lol

Might not be a longhorn, but I've seen a holstein bull like this punch the side of a pickup truck bed in over a foot and nearly bring one of the rear wheels off the ground, with its head. They are no joke. If that bull got its head under the roll bar of the P5, I have no doubt that it could easily flip the whole machine.

Went on a ride today with 55 other rides,l counted 2 Gators,2 Can Am's,3 Artic Cats,1 Kimco,my 1 Honda, the rest were all Polaris, l was pleasantly surprised with all the interest in my little Honda, especially after they heard me going thru the gears when we got out in the open, had one guy behind me tell me my brake light didn't work because it never went on going down steep grades in the timber.

View attachment 21712 View attachment 21713 View attachment 21714 View attachment 21715 View attachment 21716 Took a ride this weekend and ended up on the Martinez Land Grant (dating to Spanish control of this area) and came upon this artifact deep in a canyon with no suitable entrance or exit. It's heavy steel and the riveting is early-mid nineteenth century. Anybody have any ideas on what it is???

There are no mounting points for it being from a steam tractor and it wouldn't be a locomotive boiler for the same reason along with its going to be generally rated for lower pressure than a locomotive. Its basically a stationary power supply from the 19th or early 20th century to run a hoist, compressor or generator. They are quite common in many parts of the west. Its seen a number of repairs as you can see by the patches around the mudring and someone has whacked the tubes out undoubtedly to use them for another purpose. For one left in the wilds that one has more repairs than I have seen on others. They are always fun to look at.

Yes I did. Very familiar with them.
This is part way through the last one we rebuilt. We built a new boiler and then mount everything to the boiler. After all the brackets are mounted then you pour the Babbitt around the shafts so they are in line. Scrap them and your ready to go. This little Minneapolis had about 168 studs going into the boiler for mounting crap. 11 tons if memory serves me.

Lately I've noticed a persistent squealing noise when riding, so I pulled a front wheel and found my front pads need to be replaced. 1200 miles on the originals. I don't think that's anything to be upset about. I'll take some pics when I get the new pads

Yep. Just like a car. Gotta love Honda. The front brakes are almost exactly like a Honda car - just a bit smaller. Rotors are about 1/2" thick. The caliper bolts to the sliding pins just like a Honda car, as opposed to an atv-like setup. It's a far superior brake setup when compared to a Polaris ranger. The only thing that sucks is the price - $60 per side for the front pads. I ordered them today. As good as they performed for 1200 miles I'm sticking with the oem pads.
