P1000 **Winch advise needed!**

A 4500 viper elite from the club store is less than $400. Mount is like $50. Honda is gonna charge labor on top of that $700 price also.

It cost me around $1000 for a warn 4500, mount and labor from honda when I bought mine. I would never go that route again. Learned a valuable lesson.

It's a Viper which I understand the cost there but the 400 dollars for the mount seems a bit much! 700 total was without installation and I already have an extra rocker switch ready to do so plan on installing my self.

I know there're are people on here with better ideas lol trying to save a buck.

I got the viper elite for my 3 seater. Just installed it 2 weeks ago and haven't used it yet. I didnt get the mount cause I have top mount bumper and didnt need it. The elite comes with rocker and remote.

I went the Gucci route with a Warn Axon 4500, synthetic rope and a Warn Mount. For some reason at the time Amazon had the winch for $540. The mount was like $70. So I was about $610 plus tax all in. It's not hard if you have some basic DIY mechanical and electrical skills. You could save maybe 200-250 from my cost by going the Viper route.

One think I liked about the Axon was the fact that the contactor is integral to the winch. One less item under the hood.

One other thing Bearded Texan, budget for some recovery gear. Tree Saver, pull straps, rope extension, shackles, maybe a snatch block or soft shackle with roller.

I ordered the OEM mount and Warn winch for something like $550 shipped. Took a half day to install it, nothing too hard. I'm happy with how it turned out.

Is the snatch block found on the Honda sxs? I ordered the Viper winch and mount yesterday. Another reason why this is forum is great. Appreciate the knowledge!
