Couldn’t find the “Don't put your peter pumpers where you wouldn’t put your peter” safety sign so this will have to do.

I have a correct A-545 in the shed. Its a beast but I suppose you could shoehorn it in and would be ok in a 2wd. Works good in our bus.

If you are pulling 14K loads on steep mountains with your gas engine, you are working the hell out of it at high RPm's, I like torque and low RPM

Anyone here bought a new ford pickup in the last year or two? My friend did and as soon as them temp gets below freezing the doors won’t latch shut. Slam them all u want and they just bounce open. Summer now, so out of sight out of mind.

He took it to the dealer when it was just a few months old. they said Ford came up with two fixes for the problem and neither one works. LOL.
So he’s still driving the truck...soon he will be out of the lemon law window. So dumb. I would have screamed bloody murder until they bought it back!

How is that not a huge safety issue / recall?

Meanwhile, my ram truck has paid me back around $7000 tax free due to a problem that took them a while to fix, and FCA allegedly fudging the emissions testing (they never admitted it), and they gave me 8 years / 120,000 of warranty. I think I’ll stick with Ram for my next truck whenever my warranty runs out. :)

The big buses like inner cities have an Allison V-730 in them. I went to school in Indy on those. They basically have a ring and pinion in the front right behind the torque converter as to angle into the differential because the engine sat sideways. The Allison 540 would be a good candidate for a smaller diesel. We used to have all kinds of problems with them behind 3208 Caterpillars. The Allison 540 is electronic free. It has a governor and adjustable shift springs. It is basically a beefed up Turbo 400.

No to deleted and tuned, only thing not OEM is front bumper and winch. Replaced the CP4 pump at 232k miles, other than that just regular preventative maintenance.
Do the fords have an in tank electric fuel pump to feed the CP4? Back when the Duramax had a CP3 they did not have an in tank pump. The Cummins with a CP3 did.

Same with me, I just don't like to fix things until they are broken.

Yes there is an in tank low pressure fuel pump feeding the CP4 and a return line back to the tank for the excess fuel that the CP4 doesn't use.

They aren’t any better up close! Couldn’t find any angle I liked this truck from. Even the interior is behind and just blah.
I liked the looks of the ‘18 but this thing...
