These are the mods I have built for my 1000.
Thanks for that - I can see what you did with rear rack now.
I was almost gonna get one of these but yours is much better.

I have a welder which I have hardly used. I'll add this to the project list.

Rear bumper is 1 3/4`` OD tubing 14 gauge wall thickness I will get a close up pic of tab on hitch to bolt knee brace to.Used 3/8 bolts on rear assembly. Rear rack is 15 1/2`` inches inside by 43 inches outside that way it fit between tail lights.20 quart Pelican cooler will fit insde.

Had a similar thread to this over on the polaris forums. As expensive as factory parts can be I want to see your home built add ons! Post away!
other than the factory accessories that everyone has mentioned already, i came up with a dust and heat buster that helps alot from under the bencj seat see pic. i used the insulation roll bubble wrap from home depot and cut a section to fit.

I will probably add the same type of insulation
for summer driving to our P1K3. The engine
heat was kind of nice this past weekend. It
was upper 40's to mid 50's while we were riding.

But the main thing I wanted to say is I suggest
you test burn a small piece of what you used.
I used some from Lowes in my plane, but it
had a pretty significant burn rate, so I pulled
most of it out!

FYI!

What kind of heat insulation did this provide? Could you easily tell the difference?

I want DTAGG to respond, but I
talked to a guy in Pioneer TN, that
made the same thing, of the same
material type, but for a Polaris,
and he said it worked well. No
reason that it won't work for us.

it provided more of a dust barrier seal to the seat bottom. i noticed it less noisy and i don't get the heat from behind the legs anymore. i still get heat in the center area of the seat back but as you mentioned it is nice when it is chilly. i have not noticed any melting as it doesn't get hot enough where it is.

I think it's a "slip grip" iPhone mount. There is a screw under the dash holding the OEM switch panel, so I removed the suction cup and drill thru the plastic and reused the screw to mount it. It is very sturdy, it doesn't twist or vibrate. So far, I'm happy with it.
