Ya roads salts suck, and that is one tool where snap on stuff is worth the money. Their allen and torx bits are head amd shoulders above any thing else out there. Found that out torqueing down a cat c7 head bolts that was a t55 broke my socket then a few others in the shop. The only one that would hold the torque spec was snap on.

If I could find a snap on truck rolling around and 1500 bucks, I may buy two or three snap on sockets.

Ruh roh, what we got here? This wasn't as much as a b**** as I thought it would be, still wasn't fun. Lol. Took a 5 he round trip with mama and the kids today to Harper's ferry Iowa to pick up the trans, clutch pedal, inspection plate with the hold for the shifter, a good core support and header panel. 2500 bucks worth of parts for 500 bucks! Now to start tearing out the auto.

Big brown truck showed up while I was at work this week. First time I've ever put a clutch in, hope I did it right! Waiting on another truck to bring my diamond eye 3" stainless downpipe and 3" body lift. Once those are installed then the trans goes in and we start buttoning this bad boy up. The parts left to order list includes two front fenders, carpet kit, lights for the bed, a hitch, 7 pin wiring connector, and the raptor Liner. I'm "painting" the entire truck in raptor Liner in the original color code. It oughta be tough as nails and look good too.

Lift is on, trans is in, diamond eye 3" downpipe is in. Got the transfer case in and the clutch linkage hooked up. Bad news, I'm going to have to have the driveshaft cut.

Check the front one too, you may have to have it lengthened as well

Thanks buddy! It's coming along. My 12 year old was a huge help. She's pretty damn good with a wrench for a12 yr old girl!
We raised 4 girls and a boy, the oldest girls could change thre oil, change a tire and back a trailer before they got out of high school. I think its great that kids learn there way around a vehicle.

Finally got back in the horse and got some work done on this pig the past couple days. Old core support is out, new one is installed, still need to wire wheel, prime and paint it. Put a new fan belt on, and ordered new fenders. They should be in within 2-3 days. Once the fenders are on I can reinstall the radiator, condenser and so forth, put the hood back on and get it ready for paint. Project completion deadline is now in time to take it to the takeover next April. That gives me a little over 7 months.

What! No pictures included with the update? We'll take anything, even if it is those white sunglasses.

Haha! No pics. Want anything pic worthy, just replacing one rusty core support with another slightly less rusty core support. Unfortunately I'm in Naperville IL tonight or I'd snap a pic of something for ya. When I get the support sanded and painted and the new fenders on I'll have some photographic evidence to share.

Hood and fenders back on and mostly aligned. Now starts the fun of wire wheeling, grinding sanding priming and painting to make it all last. I'll be rearranging the garage to get it back indoors today so I can finish it up in relative comfort, plus have my driveway back.

Nasty old front tank is out. Wire wheeled the left side of the frame down, rear tank should be in tomorrow, I'll be finishing the frame cleanup and paint. Then I can finally get the damn flatbed out of my driveway and on the truck. With any luck y'all will be seeing this truck in April!
