Hey all,

I’ve been scouring the web and this site for a clear answer and I’m not coming to a definitive conclusion so... here we go.
It’s time to ditch these stock four ply tires and get something better, I’m pretty sure I’m going to get the tusk trilobite 8 ply for the p5. My problem now is what to do for the stance and stability. I looked at spacers but not sure about that option, looked at a few wheels that are 12x7 4+3 and 5+2. So here are my questions.

1. How many of you are running 26’s on stock rims without spacers, does the p5 handle ok like this?

2. How many of you are running 12x7 5+2 vs 4+3?

3. In your opinion, what is the perfect set up?

26 s on stock rims with 1.5 spacers make it perfect for me .

Did you go 26x9 in front or same size all the way around?

Is anyone having issues with spacers or are they a solid solution to widening the p5?

Did you go 26x9 in front or same size all the way around?
9s on the front , bought new take offs from a guy on craigs list for 200.00 !

9s on the front , bought new take offs from a guy on craigs list for 200.00 !
That’s a pretty good deal, I think I’ll look for some take offs myself.

26's on stock rims with no spacers was too tippy for me. 5+2's give it some much needed stability. Been running spacers off and on since I bought mine and have never had a problem, just use some thread locker. I've used a couple of different brands of spacers and haven't had issues with either one. Depending on the amount of weight you plan to add and location in regards to COG, 26's on stocks with spacers or 5+2's would suit most that are trying to maintain limited width. If width restrictions aren't an issue, spread it out! ;)

26" big Horn Originals, I went with 14" MSA M20 Kore rims, 9" front, 11" back. I put these on 2 years ago and just don't remember what offset they are. The rear tires do stick out from under the fenders about 2 inches more than the stock tires, front tires a close to the same. Besides getting a lot better traction and higher clearance, that I was expecting, the better handling and stability was a very big bonus.

I thought about 14” wheels, still haven’t ruled them out.

No but you will gain with 5+2's, put me at about 53" if I remember right. Felt better than stocks with 1" spacers.

You will gain 1/2" per side with 5+2 wheels from stock wheels.

You will gain 1 1/2" per side with 4+3 wheels from stock wheels.

Factory fronts 4.5+1.5

Factory rears 6+1.5

Thanks!! Same size all the way around so I can rotate them and maximize their life. 26x10 Rip Saws.. a heavy tire that isn't very good in the sand.

That was pretty great, sounded like you needed a little more power to keep your momentum! I was cheering for ya but it didn’t do any good and to top it off, my itch to buy a 700 or 1000 just flared up again. Sobriety is such a long road, I hadn’t thought about upgrading since....ohhh...aaahhaa..yep it was yesterday lol.
