I'd say for cheap dependable look for t100. Not a ton of power but you can usually get a good deal and there is more substance there to pull with. Cant go wrong with yota. Not enough truck for some but would do a good job for that.

Alright first step is done. I traded in my Nissan Altima for a Honda Pilot. That should be able to tow the P500 in the covered utility trailer that I'll be getting next. Bcba1715ef10e8a18d30dad036d96503

I'm looking to purchase a 7'x14' covered v-nose trailer and convert it into a toy hauler/camper next.

Great idea, I assume you've already checked height clearance for that.

Yes, I'm planning on doing a custom order from Diamond Trailers in GA. They'll add an extra 12" to get it to 7'3" height.

What's the bare trailer running and how much do you think it will take to convert?
Little over $4k for the enclosed, I'm looking for a donor camper with good appliances and fixtures, so I am hoping I can get it done for less than $8k if I can find a donor if not I think @$10k, depends on what I can scrap/sell the donor for afterward.

Look Here it is a Cargo Trailer conversion sub-forum I've been looking over for good ideas.

Actual conversion is on hold till after I get the 1000 setup and broken in. Trying to decide on a layout and whether I need the extra 4' for a 20'

Honestly I'd buy what you need new from eBay. Reusing things is tough and you don't save much. I'd find yourself a 3-way fridge used but rest new. Do an instant on water heater they are nicer and efficient. A couple things like that you can do much better.

Im just not sure how much you really need for a couple days. The wife wants a shower and commode, just not sure you really need all that. A countertop, small sink, portable toliet, fold down beds and a good outside awning would work for a long weekend trip.

I'm torn between buying or building... I'm just not sure I'll save much money building.
I can't find ANY 20' pre-fab toy haulers that will hold a 1000 internally that also have:

Sink
Shower
toilet
heat/cool
3 way fridge fridge
1 or 2 burner stove
convection microwave oven
enough storage for the stuff we'd need
4bunks

The last one can fold on the wall at the rear where the 1000 would fit.

I have seen a couple pop-ups with large cargo beds on the front but no shower, and they are still $20+ new
