I was wanting to go to this meeting. Our company Christmas party is that night but I am trying to see if I can make it back in time after the meeting is over. Thanks to all who are going to represent!

*** UPDATE ***

There is un-confirmed information that today (11/15/2023) TWRA has reconsidered the riding permit fee increases / changes until an economic impact study is done.

I know of a dozen or so locals myself included & businesses that rely on the OHV tourism have written TN congressman Tim Burchett and Governor Bill Lee (who appointed the TWRA Commission) and our concerns have given them pause to examine why TWRA let the fee oversight happen for 18 years without directing funds appropriately for the NCWMA.

Still the Public Meeting is being held as in the original post and its imperative peoples voices continue to be heard.

Thought it's good for a year from when the purchase was made, and you'd be grandfathered in I'd assume.

The reason I said it may be premature is TWRA may very well decide to require the High Impact permit for both residents and non-residents per machine which is what they should have done 10 years ago. That was what I recommended they consider while doing the economic impact study for a year and gauging those exact permit revenues as all those funds go directly to NCWMA region from OHV use.

So, I would not buy any permit until after January 1st and see what interim decision they come up with for 2024 / 2025.
