CP’s Talon Rebuild

as an alternative and I didn't like the plastic roof, just bent a piece of aluminum to cover the side of the ROPS and used the existing 4 mounting bolts - I put an 1/16" of rubber at the back center where it was bolted - roof conforms to ROPS in the back - clamp/mark/drill.

Ran them kinda hard but never been my own so can’t wait. Most of our riding is slow stuff which I know isn’t it’s forte but does good enough to make me grin. Been higher speed a few times, yes they wake up and smooth out quickly.
Sitting shotgun in one isn’t my favorite, had two buddies trying to scare me already. Once was on a super curvy dirt road through the woods with drop offs at 60mph at midnight. Buddy only had poorly adjusted headlights, I could never see the corners before we were drifting. @Tigermark knows Tony and the Lk. Elsie road lol. Luckily he knew the road well but it sucked. But ya they are made to scoot.

Added a couple things tonight. First is an all on switch that allows radio, interior rgb and a couple of the lower wattage lighting power without key on through separate relays. Not dual battery yet but it’s ready.
Switch I ordered apparently got lost in mail so just threw a pos in since gotta get back in there for isolator later anyways.

Then added the EMP under hood storage that probably everyone running. Looks cheap kinda but imo it’s actually fairly well designed and snaps right in. I’m not sure why they added holes in front for the original hood bumpers when it clearly won’t seal as well nor will hood fit flush but whatever. Pulled them out. Also added a little hard foam strip around the front edge to kill off what I’d think would be a little rattle.
Overall very pleased with this free storage, much larger inside then it looked. Great product

Also blacked out the vent covers. They come raw aluminum and just didn’t like that against the white. Used vinyl wrap because it’ll hold up better to being thrown in glove box.
Sometimes it’s about the little things.

Spoke with Tony today. He said he’s thinking about selling his Talon and buying a 1000-5. He also said he rebuilt my old 500 that he bought from Axel, who after buying it from me , fried the engine somehow…

You’re lucky you fit inside the Talon. If I did, I’d consider trading with Tony, plus the 1000 is way more useful on the farm. I’d love a four seater. Although the Kubota tractor and my backup solar system put a hurting on me finances .

Ya he originally wanted P1k5 but none available sand Talon popped up cheap. I expect him to either buy one or trade before long. Wanted to keep Talon though. My bet would be eventually getting his wife the 1000 instead of the 500.

I put mine in the rear cargo area. The fuse/relay box, isolator, etc are under the hood.
