For the Tikka guys who didn't know, the YoDave trigger spring will reduce trigger pull weight down as low as about 1lb. I have my '06 set to around 2.5lbs.

I have YoDave springs in all four of my Tikkas.

What caliber, model rifle does everybody use for hunting deer. I prefer my old trusty Remington 700 bdl in 270 with 150 grain core lokts
Remington bdl 30-06.180 gr. Updated with a synthetic stock. bought over 40 years ago.

Fits nice on either the 2018 pioneer 1000-3, 2006 trx 500 or 1997 trx300.

I reload and am partial to different stuff and custom rifles these days so I've got a couple go to rifles in wildcat chamberings. 270 Sherman pushing the 170 berger at 3100fps and my new 25sst pushing the 131 blackjack at 3213. I've also got a 300 rum that I'm about halfway through the second bbl on pushing 230 bergers at 3000fps with a lot of kills under its belt.

My favorite deer rifle is a Ruger #1 in 25/06 with a 3-15x50 Minox scope on it. I've also got a Tikka T-3 in 25/06 with a Zeiss 3-9x40 on it that is one slick rifle, my son has laid claim to it. My wet weather rifle is a Thompson Center Encore Pro Hunter, 25/06, with a Minox 3-15x42 scope. It's got a 26" semi-bull barrel on it and is probably the tightest grouping rifle I own. For Colorado elk I carry a Ruger 77 in 300 Win Mag. with a Minox 3-15X42, this rifle is an old Paddle Stock model 77.

Anybody ever been around a Winchester model 70 carbine? Had one in 243 years ago that I was stupid and let go haven’t seen one since would love to find another great compact little rifle and deadly accurate! Here in W.V. it’s either the Remington 700 bdl in 270 or marlin 1895 guide gun most of the time for me unless I’m hunting a nice clear cut then I break out “the cannon” my Remington 700 bdl in 300 win mag never had a deer walk out of its tracks with that rifle usually it makes them do a nice spin move or flips them over backwards lol.

My all time favorite is a Remington model 600 in .308
My second favorite Ruger M77 in.280 Rem.
My new favorite Henry Long Ranger in .308
My son loves the little savage in 7-08 and my savage in .270 is a good gun also.
The little 50 year old 600 with its 18" barrel was made to kill deer.

I’m a ruger m77 guy...but depending on what I’m doing... and my mood

300wm with a Trijicon Accupoint

Compact model 308 with a Trijicon Accupoint

06 with a Trijicon Accupoint

muzzle loader is a 50 cal TC or a knight
I also use a Ruger M77 in 30.06 with 180 grain soft point...I don"t like to go look for a wounded animal, the 180 has always performed well.
