Any updates to the fix from Honda. It is about to heat up and I am not looking forward to a hot seat this summer.
Been looking at the cover that you have to remove to access air filter box, it looks like it's just a big ole heat trap. Have any of tried taking the cover off and running it in the warmer months?

I called today (1-866-784-1870, option #7, then #3 I think) and spoke to someone named Felix. He said they're collecting information and presenting it to management for them to address the issue. He asked a series of questions around temperature, how long before it was uncomfortable, how many miles on the SxS, typical dress when I ride, had I called my local dealer, etc.

If you have interest in a fix, you really need to call in and add voices to the choir.
I have my case # now. He said my situation was extreme compared to other owners-O PLEASE

And if you have had/are having issues mention the failure as well. Thanks for the PH # and 3 is right.

I can tell you from experience here in fl my first trip all stock it got hot I have the under seat heat shield our second Riding trip this past weekend was better I removed the big cover under the bed to access the top of the engine and air cleaner. What a huge difference this made the seat never got hot glove box stayed 50% cooler also best mod done so far with the exception of the honda sxs decals

I left my engine compartment plastic off and steam rolled into the cab.

I think the more plastic you have between you and the engine the better.

I put insulation with sticky back on the cover and sealed around it with pipe insulation and it does not get hot like before. We rode last weekend an it was 80 degrees and not 1 problem from heat.

Is yours a 5 or 3 seater? If it's a 5 seater do the rear seats get hotter? Or does the airflow go forward and then out?

I have a 3 seater we went through a few puddles and didn't get any steam in the front but it wasn't a lot of water like some might go through

I'm not saying he is wrong, I'm just gonna say I had a completely different experience. Just the opposite. The goal is to keep the heat out of the cab.

I have the 5 seater.

I think a fan under seat will fix everything

That's what i think, the air cleaner cover is trapping the heat the heat and transferring to the the back of the seat, especially the middle.

I looked at doing that, would have to remove air cleaner totally and insulate. A little concerned about getting insulation in contact with something hot and catching fire, really think it's a ventilation issue.

The foam isn't touching anything it's just warm air. It takes a lot more than 200 degrees to burn that's stuff anyways.

I agree. I think it's just a vent prob.

What cover? The heat from mine is coming from the rear center cover, if you have a service manual, it's on page 2-8 #3. If you insulate the air cleaner cover, looks like it would just turn more heat to the front?

After really looking at mine I found silver reflective tape on the bottom of the rear center cover, this is the plastic between the bottom seat and the back of the seat, must have been Honda's first attempt at fixing the heat issue. There is no insulation on this piece, 0.

The heat kits out there need to start at the front edge of the seat and extend 3/4 the way up the back of the seat, one piece unit

I did my own with insulation for duck work from Home Depot. Covers the entire bottom of seat and up the back. I also install 2 4" blowers but have not used them yet......99 degree heat coming to Texas soon...

You take the center section out and insulate behind it? Or go over the top of it?
