Behind it with pipe insulation sealing it, Back seat passengers said the heat was not a problem as before.

So are you starting at the front of the seat and going over the motor and extending past the rear floor boards? I looked at doing this.

With just the 2 4" blowers my wife and brother notice a difference as soon as they are turned on. I had my arm over the back of the seat and also notice an immediate difference when the blowers are turned on.

Are your blowers mounted horizontally (level) and blowing toward the rear?

Yep, that's the way to do it. It blows engine heat out the back.

I have just one pointed directly at the exhaust header.

So far, this issue hasn't bothered me yet. Will see as it gets warmer, but to me I don't see it as really an issue. In my '11 Commander, that thing was truly a sauna.....since they wanted to keep it short, with a dump bed and still sporty, you sat down "in" the machine more....so where else was the motor? That's right, right between the occupants. Your butts were basically mid-level of the motor. That was one hot machine, but I took it with a grain of salt and chocked it up to the type of vehicle it was. My parents 2008 Ranger RZR (first year of the rzr) gets damn warm too.
Now, I can see where the steam could be an issue with safety (visibility), but for the heat? Just go faster.

Having said all this, I may do the underseat insulation thing-a-mabob....just because I can. :D

The 3rd photos shows the top of the cover with the pipe insulation installed. The 2nd photo shows it with out.

Is this where you glued it to the bottom of the floor covering? That area is pretty close to the motor and a lot of hot stuff.
The motor will never ever be hot enough to melt pipe insulation. That was designed to be in contact with hot water pipe. Which is right in the ballpark of 200 degrees. I could stick a chunk in my oven at 400 and I still doubt it would catch fire. Why?

Because that isn't flammable foam. It's fire retardant. Beyond that, the air will never be as hot as the engine itself. Joey did a test I believe, where he measured the heat with a fancy thermometer. It was 170 degrees if I remember right.

If the engine is ever hotter than 210 degrees, that foam is the least of your worries.

The only thing hot enough down there to catch anything on fire is the exhaust components.

Again, the engine cannot catch things on fire. It just isn't hot enough under normal operating conditions.

You aren't the first person to wonder this, and it should be put to rest that nothing you put anywhere near the engine will ever catch flame from residual heat. Even putting things ON the engine couldn't catch flame. It's the exhaust you need to worry about, or a fuel leak.
