P1000 Heat problem solved?

This past fall I was hunting with a friend and we were on his Yamaha Viking. I noticed he had no cab heat issues but it was kind of loud. Just recently my brother bought the Polaris General and he too has no cab heat issues. Both machines have something in common. Both motors are completely open. Here's a pic of General:


So I was looking at my Honda and was wondering what if I removed all the plastic covering? Would that let heat escape? Here is pic of my Honda:

What do you guys think?

On the three seater I'm wondering if drilling a couple holes on each side of the air cleaner cover would help? As we all know heat rises and it looks like a perfect duct to push it up behind the seat.

I used one of the OP's photos to mark up for the general locations, it could be done on each side.

With so many pictures? Those pieces are the bottom of the rear floor with insulation glued to them.

I was thinking about while I've got apart and exhaust pipe assessable to wrap them with header wrap, but I did some research and it's a good way to rot your exhaust system if you ride around a wet environment. Any one have a ceramic spray gun?

I would like to figure out how to keep heat out of the air box, looks like a heat trap to me

The biggest difference I've made to help the heat is my single 4 inch bilge fan. A very close second was adding the power commander which had a nice side benefit of making the machine run a little bit cooler.

Yeah that's nice and all but a second mortgage isn't worth it for $50 in parts from Amazon. They have some serious markup on that box of parts.

Great find! Already have the fan and some heat shield I installed. Might just order this for extra shielding. The wife does not like it when the heat gets up. Lol, neither do I.

Everybody has their own budget. For me, a $400 dollar fix for a machine that I've "invested" $25k in doesn't sting too bad. I needed that fixed much more than I needed rims and tires.

I don't think they are charging all that money for the parts. I think they are charging all that money because they knew how to fix it lol! See video below

So watch their video and buy the parts elsewhere. I have a problem spending 8 times what the parts cost for knowledge. Double sure, not 8 times.

If they are dumb enough to post what, why, and how. Their knowledge is then free.

I think they did a nice job with their kit. I also like the quality of their heat shielding. Is it pricy? Yes, but its plug and play for those that don't want to take the time to build their own and its a clean, factory looking setup. I would consider buying this setup, but I'm waiting on Honda for the time being since the heat feels good right now.
