Can you see this one?
The ball joints are a b!tch to get out...just sayin'.Hopefully that and the steering knuckle are the issues. I'll bet there is a You Tube Vid of the process, You will probably need access to a ball joint removal tool ( $25.00 OR LESS AT HARBOR FREIGHT) and a press to install new ball joint.
I've had good success with the HF cheapie. The ball joints are a b!tch to get out...just sayin'.
HA! We are, tie rod end needs replaced.I believe you guys are talking about 2 different things lol.
Count the revolutions it takes to remove the tie rod end, install the new one in reverse and you'll be real close. So I have a new Honda outer tie rod in hand. Do I simply plug and play, or do I need to adjust the length of the tie rod to align the wheel?
Just tugged on the left front tire; there is some play. Thought that side was fine; time to dive into that side.
Is the new tie rod end easy to manipulate too? On the 1000, one of the ball joints is easy to manipulate even when it's brand new. I cant Remember if it's the upper or lower. The tie rod end ball joints on the 1000 are stiff when they are new.Ok, that tie rod ball joint is very easy to manipulate as well.
I would go ahead and change both for s***s and giggles. Keep the used ones for spares.I bought 2 at the Honda store. Pre installation, I couldn't move them.
The only tie rod ends that I have changed was due to a torn boots. And one that was badly damaged during one of those nights that I struggled getting home, that I don't talk about in public.I would go ahead and change both for s***s and giggles. Keep the used ones for spares.
Tie rod ends? What about the tie rod itself?Pic of it with two new tie rods.
No change.

If anything, it looks worse.
