great write up, i assume its the same procedures for a 2020 model... less than 400 miles and reverse and 1st have a 2500-3000rpm take off and 3 and 5 red line just to shift.

Always worth a shot but being such a large spike in only the one side it sounds like clutch.Try the clutch relearn.

I hope I get a reply from you on this. I did a clutch replacement the way you said and it worked fine for a week until today. It doesn’t slip at all. It shifts fine when I first take off when it’s cold but then it won’t it’ll get where it won’t shift past 2nd or 3rd.View attachment 21311
Lets talk CLUTCH REPLACEMENT!
The 2016 Honda Pioneer 1000 seems to be getting a reputation for having clutch failures and it has been common perception that Honda was taking care of these issues as they come up for all its loyal riders. WRONG!
Lets say if you are stock and haven't drove through a puddle of water 10" or more, then you have a fairly good chance the Honda will approve your replacement. But if you have modified your Pioneer outside "there liking"... well.... You best just read up on the below!
But... Not to worry. For less then $350 and a few hours time you can be back on the trial!
If you can replace an alternator or water pump in your car/truck then you are more then capable of completing this clutch replacement!
Time needed!

I done it no problem following his directionsExcellent write up and documentation. You gave me complete confidence when the time comes.
Thank you!
Nope couldn’t shift it manual either. No codes. But I went hunting this afternoon and it done like it’s suppose tooWell that’s not a problem I experienced. Does it shift in manual mode? Any codes popping up? Sounds like either temp related or oil pressure
Rule number one of mud club is use low with manual shift. 😉My 2021 P1K-5 with less than 35hrs/130 miles is in the shop getting a new clutch pack now. Honda Warranty Department refused to cover it because the tires are 1" oversized and there was some mud in the engine area so now I'm stuck with the $1400 bill, next time I'll do it myself.... But I did give it hell while it lasted and boy was it fun! 😁

No warranty?
So really there isn’t a clutch issue just a machine abuse issue? That is good to know but a clutch can fail, kind of concerning they won’t warranty a clutch on a low hr machine but I see your point, but at least it isn’t too spendy to diy.Honda isn't covering clutches anymore since the update pretty much fixed the issue.
Sitting in a mud hole reving the engine with the tires not moving will burn a clutch up immediately. Doing the same thing while trying to pull another UTV or whatever will also do it.
Bulls*** they shouldn’t have fixed it without talking to you first. I’d been pissedMy 2021 P1K-5 with less than 35hrs/130 miles is in the shop getting a new clutch pack now.
