Got this Dual fuel one at Costco a while back for occasional/emergency use since I have a big LP tank. Never used liquid gas yet. Use small LP tank to run for welding machine out on driveway.

Also as an HVAC tech as well as a gen tech. Hard start kits are mainly for compressors that have ben zapped/overloaded and or locked up. A slow start kit is kinda the same but your asking the compressor to do something that it’s not supposed to do under normal conditions. Like a Nest thermostat on most furnaces! That’s another Pandora’s box for another time. They can help for what your trying to do for a time but may give u problems in the long run. We’ve had compressors fail from the very thing your trying to do. Like I tell my engineer buddy’s, don’t over think this lol.

I think I have my wife convinced that if I buy a generator, I can get a new toy hauler included at no additional cost.

It’s definitely not the nicest TH in the world but it will be a lot less stressful than towing doubles and is already integrated with a genset that meets the forest service decibel ratings.

Yes it is a Forest River 325 Wolfpack 13 Toyhauler.

Was really looking at Momentum M class TH, but at 2x the cost I just couldn’t quantify the cost difference for what I was getting.

Same gen I have in my carbon. You’ll like it. The wolf pack is a nice just above entry level toy hauler. It should do the job for you. Congrats

I really, really, really wanted our next RV to have the leveling jacks and such but when it came down to it was 20+k to get into the next TH level that had them and that was really the only difference that stood out. Sure there were other small items like included TVs and a larger freshwater tank but that was basically it. I pulled all my TVs and other upgrades from my 2017 Crossroads any way.

We are a long ways from full time and are more in the 1 week at a time at most crowd.

The GVW (14500) on the Wolfpack that I purchased will be right at the limit with our p1000-5 in it plus gear ( we don’t travel with water in the tanks usually), but will be within the legal limits (15500) of my SRW F350.

I was considering other TH that were in the 17000 gvw range but just couldn’t bring myself to write that big of check.

I get it. That is a nice TH. They’ve upgraded the Wolf pack with fiberglass sides as standard and the aluminum side as an option. The fiberglass is way better imo. There a decent unit, your gonna love it.

That little Generac generator is a good gen. I’m a bit bias being a certified Generac tech my suggestions will be nutral. For an RV a little gen like the Generac you listed and the little Honda both around 3kw would be the absolute minimum you would want. A/C’s take a lot kw start up power and are hard on gens as well as compressors at start up something you don’t notice initially but will slowly do some damage through time. The quality of the gen is very important to this. cheep unit’s like Chinese units, champions, HF ect have a very choppy sine wave and cheap voltage regulators that can give you “dirty power” that can lead to long term damage to products and the gen itself. Those units imo are good for job sites and off the grid type stuff again imo. Bottom line, You’ll get what you pay for in generators. Now wanting to run your furnace in your home a fridge or 2 and a few lights, I definitely recommend a decent quality gen for that stuff. A standby is the best but not everyone can afford one. Reason being that a lot of today’s appliances aka furnace and fancy fridges use circuit boards and most motors on furnaces are ECM/ DC converted from that circuit board. In order for those to run right or have good life longevity, you need a good smooth sine wave aka a good quality generator and the proper kw. I would recommend a good 5kw absolute minamum unit for your home. The Honda’s have a nice sine wave and very quiet. I have a 3300 Honda that’s real quiet I had for my Old RV before I got a 5k equipped on my toyhauler. I hold on to the Honda cuz it’s just a real good portable, pricy but well worth it. Hope I didn’t overload you with info

was only 2k on my wildwood for the leds everywhere, power front and jacks all on one remote thought that was worth it.
has big tanks, big shower, tows just as tight as the 24 I had before. with the tanks I can stay a 4 day weekend with three girls and not have to dump still, old trailer only went in emergency if I had to stay somewhere without sewer

Another angle I’m now considering is adding a soft start to my RV AC and just getting a single Honda 2000 inverter generator may be the ticket. Soft starters for my RV ac run about 300 bucks.

This way I only have one light generator to lug around.

I’m an engineer by trade...I can’t help it...gotta consider all angles.

These were what i was considering. What won out is that I was also pulling this everywhere I went.

It’s a lot to watch for 6+ hrs of driving one way plus limits on campsite size.

With the TH I’m picking up this weekend, I’ll be solving the generator problem and I’ll be able to bring my p1000-5 or my golf cart more often.

Well picked up my expensive generator.

No toys in yet. Still have to stock it etc. Pretty much determined that the factory rancho shocks (motorcraft painted white) don’t like the higher pin weight much. Got some rsx9000’s on order.

I bought some Bilstein shocks for my superduty and I really like them. My truck is an F350 and I added Air lift at bags like I did with my F250 before that. It really helps with the stability and geometry of the truck and no sag with a 5th wheel especially toyhaulers. Different shocks help just a little.

Here’s what she looks like. I have an 8’ bed witch makes even better difference in the pulling and weight distribution. I had a 6-1/2’ bed like yours and the 5er likes to buck it. The air lift bags made it about a 75% improvement so I bought them for the truck you see also. Unless I buy a duly next I’ll always have the bags on my trucks.
