How do those jack nuts work?

Like a drywall nut. In this case, I drilled holes in the inner bed sides, (with corresponding holes in the alumimum plate). Push the jacknut into the hole, thread the bolt into the jacknut and tighten... the portion of the nut that's behind the bed wall crumples up and squeezes itself against the inside of the wall, and viola! You've got a caged nut to thread into.
Works like a charm.

Well, I took the time to remove the bedside panels last night. My powdercoat guy has the stuff coming, so sometime in the next week or so, I should be able to mount 'em back up and be done with that project.

Going with a low gloss black hammer coating. That looks like it'll match the black on the bed the best. Trying to make it look like it "belongs".

I’m pretty stoked about how these turned out. Very functional, and they look like they belong.
Still have to finish bolting one side down, but other than that, this project is done!

Thanks dude! I already knew it worked good, as I've had it mounted in there for a couple months.

The powder coat is about as close as I could get to the crinkle black of the bed. It's not a perfect match, but its not bad. I think as they both get dirty, they'll look more alike. I just hope the coating holds up to use. Guess we'll see.

Finished attaching the side plates, and with the help of my son-in-law, installed the HONDA stickers on the tailgate. Looks good!

Ordered RB3 door bushings, and a pair of 1" wheel spacers. Sometime this month I should have new wheels.

The door bushings were a super easy install, and tightened those suckers up nice!

Finished the fan install today.

I decided to use light weight aluminum angle.
First, I cut a piece for across the top. I put a 90 at the end so I could attach it to the frame there too. I used a Chevy u-joint cap to attach the angle to the round tube.
Next, I made a box around the fan, added a support on the bottom so it would stay where I put it.

All in all, I think it turned out okay.

it seems to work really well. I think I'm still gonna remove the rear engine/trans cover. that'll allow the air to flow away better.

After getting sent the wrong wheels, and then jacking around with the seller for 2 weeks, I have a tracking # for my new wheels. It says anticipated delivery is this coming Thursday... I'm hoping they show up tues or weds. If they do, I'll have them on this week.

Well.. no wheels today, but I decided it should be clean before I get em anyway. Can’t put new wheels on a dirty ride, right?
Not a full-on detail, but probably as good as its ever gonna get. Didn’t clean the wheels & tires..

My favorite mod so far. I carry all sorts of different stuff in this thing, I need to be able to properly lash it in. These rails make that easy.

Well.. they showed up. They’re even the right offset this time!
Now to find the time to pull the OE’s off & put these on.
If I keep having 12 hr days, that’s gonna be tough... they look dam good though!!
