The Vivian Campbell years of Dio were awesome. Got to see them many times during those tours. My brothers wife worked for Warner at the time and got me press seats for all the local Dio concerts. I was also a big fan of Rainbow, so those were some great years for music.

Funny you bring up Rainbow, I was actually thinking about posting this vid last night but the thread was kind of being flooded with them at the time. He had a reputation for being a dick but Blackmore was a guitar God IMO, just a riff machine. I liked them in the Joe Lynn Turner yrs too and this was one of my favs.

Rainbow was great with all their singers. I have met Joe Lynn Turner a few times, really nice guy. A local lad. Was a great guitar player as well but he wanted to concentrate on being a singer. As much as I loved the JLT years, I think Rainbow with Dio was my favorite.

Ritchie's attitude was very well documented. He had some serious heated fights with band members in Deep Purple. That's why he left DP and made Rainbow. It was all his, he called the shots. It was not a democracy, it was a dictatorship. But knowing quite a few musicians over the years, I can understand his position. Musicians are usually drunken, ego ridden mambi pambi's.

From what I am told, the biggest ego ridden asshole during the day was the singer from the black crows. Allegedly he spit in the face of some young kid in a 7-11 because she didn't know who the black crows were. This is the kind of people you are dealing with.

Yeah Chris Robinson was an ass earlier in his career due to alcohol and drugs. He and his brother Rich used to fight on stage with one another and crap. They're no longer like that. They got themselves straight

Dave is my favorite. Although i like them all. I follow them very closely pretty much on a daily basis like a Beatles head or a Zeppelin head does to there respected band digging up stuff never heard before like bootlegs and vidgeas. I have tons of books books 6 bootlegs and lord knows how many vintage posters of the band And original vinyl right down to my phone protector lol. There the most interesting non communicating popular band with more drama than carter has liver pils lol. Thats what makes them so dam interesting.

Im such a fanatic that playing the guitar since 10 my rig has consisted in VH stuff. From the original Peavy 5150 1/2 stack I once owned back in 95’ and still own the original Peavy wolf gang guitar I bought new in 97’ to the new EVH line. Ask @trigger hes seen it in person 🤣
#POIDH ok here we go….lol
this aint 1/2 of it.

Nice, I have some EVH stuff too but not that much. I have the 50w head but not the stealth, the original with the 6L6. Great amp.

And I do have a Peavey Wolfgang Goldtop Standard with a maple cap. One of the few guitars I bought new.

Dang!! Some guitar porn here!! I've always wanted an original Wolfgang. They've been on my wish list for a long time!

There was a guy selling a VH Frankenstrat themed trailer over on the Wolverine page! It was awesome! He named it Van Haulin". 🤣 🤣

He still is. Probably the biggest a$$ in rock and roll...but damn, he can sing. I've seen him fight his brother on stage, back stage...fight other band members on stage. Seen him walk off stage a bunch of times....and throw people out of concerts randomly...for just looking at him wrong. Don't try to take a pic or record anything at a crows or CRB show....nope, he'll have you thrown out before you can get your phone up.

The original Peavey Wolfgangs were really nice quality. They started selling them again when the patent was up. They were put together with parts left over from the EVH days. The finish work was real sloppy. But now they are having them made in Croatia (i think, or one of those countries) and they are really nice. Maybe even nicer than the originals. Peavey made some improvements that EVH didn't want. Like splitting the coils.

Funny how none of them are that way until they get famous, then they turn into little b****'s.
My brothers ex would tell me that stuff all the time. She worked in the AR dept at Warner Communications back then. She mentioned the singer from REM in particular. She said he was the nicest humble guy, then crazed ego maniac.

Michael Stipe. REM was my brother's favorite band, he leaned more towards alternative than I did. I was more into metal and what's funny is he used to say "I bet in 10 yrs bands like Def Leppard won't even be around". That was 35 yrs ago and Def Leppard is still touring. Haven't heard from REM in quite a while...🤔

Saw Dio and Dokken at same concert. Very good. Saw Black Crowes open up for Mcauley Schenker. Never really a fan of the Black Crowes but to each his own
