I'm picking up a 2017 500 will be putting it into the exact same truck. A 1500 with the 5'7" bed. Do you guys think the 500 will bend the tailgate? I'll take pics with it loaded. I don't have a long ride home so I'm not worried about that.
Welcome to the forum Jf500! I'd be more concerned with the tailgate cables. They make brackets for that. DG is the company.
I'm loading onto an Ironman Trail Rack into a 6' 7" bed. It's so I can haul a travel trailer as well.

Thanks man! It sounds like I'll be traveling down the same road as the op. Will def check out dg's stuff. Can you close your tailgate with the iron-man stuff?

Welcome here Jf500! You're just transporting it that way once? If you back it in, there will be less weight on the tailgate. I transport mine like that regularly with no issues. I forget what the rating is on those cables but it's more than 30% of the P5. If you're concerned however, you can get a pair of flat steel bars that hook on beside your cables for about $60.00.

COG
IS A MYTH
IF you drive regular
no problem...
use caution while driving
Lol...COG is science! Not saying it won't work, hell you could put it on the roof, but I wouldn't want to haul it.
First rule in heavy equipment operating is keep the load low. Better handling, response and ride...
kinda' like putting spacers on a P5. :D

No, doesn't allow you to close the tailgate. Check out what rocmar posted...#9 in this thread.
This rig drops the load even lower. I'm going to add 8" to the width, from 48" to 56". I want to see some ramp when loading.

Should've taken stock before you posted it. :) I can't wait to try it out.
Gonna be a load though with the travel trailer hooked up too.
The Sierra's going to be sucking a little wind.

$239 delivered. There's definitely cheaper ramps out there, not built like these though.
Rungs are closer together too, for mowers and golf carts...smoother ride up the ramp.
Nice....
It's gonna be a Full Load
with Trlr & p5
you'll be styling

I think the pair I have may be as strong but, they don't fold, and I really like that. And I'm in NM at the moment and we decided to load the P5 in the bed of the truck and go down the road a couple miles to the Kit Carson NF and ride. Only problem..........my ramps are in OK. I brought the P5 out last on my 20' HD trailer. Where'd you get them from? I believe I'll get them so that I have a pair in both places. I like the close rungs/smooth ride feature too!
