P1000 PIONEER DYING WHEN PUT IN GEAR

Did a search on here about this but didn't find much. The Pioneer will start up just fine but when I put it in gear it dies immediately Has anybody had this problem?

1. It's confused about neutral position
Are you cranking it in gear? Try cranking it from the neutral position.
2. Some other interlock.
I can't think of what safety interlock that would be causing this.
3. The clutch is locked up
If the clutch won't slip then the wheels are directly coupled to the engine. Does it lurch forward? Harder than usual?

Is it flashing any codes after it dies? Either the check engine light or the gear selection will flash. long is a 10 count, short is a 1 count.

It will start in park and neutral but when I put it in drive or reverse it dies. I don't think it has to do with the clutch.

Maybe let the engine warm up a while. When I first start mine in the morning, I can put it in gear and then accelerate but I can't stop without the engine sometimes stalling. Almost went through my garage door a couple times! My first gear clutch sticks in the engaged position until the engine warms up a bit then it's fine the rest of the day. Did that since the day I brought it home new from the dealership.

Same thing mine was doing in addition to other issues. It’s at the shop now being diagnosed, but initial word is it’s related to the tranny.

Put it in D, R and L. Does the display show correctly in each spot?

Does the oil pressure light illuminate while running or right before it dies? I had a similar issue with one, ended up being the shift drum weren't center bolt had come loose. But it could also be clutch locking up or a similar problem.

That is hard to understand when it will still start and run? Can you explain why?

I know it sounds weird but my jd mower would start fine but when I would engage the blades and try to move it would shut off. So I went to the dealer told them the problem , long story short it was the battery. A new battery and no more problems.

Is it throwing any codes on the dash?

Replace the spark plugs mine just did the same thing would run in park no codes and would die if put into gear... Must have fouled a plug or something from not letting it warm up

Have u modded any electrical? Reverse buzzer and neutral switch will kill it like that.
