What’s the best way to soften up the suspension in my pioneer without spending crazy money on new shocks??

Stock shocks I am afraid I have not seen any good methods of softening up the ride.. The Fox shocks are really worth the money however and A lot of people are happy with the 814 shocks as well.

Soften up spring pre-load. Or buy 27” rubber mounted on 12” rims. More sidewall rides better.

Right now I’m running a 4 inch highlighter kit with arched alarms in the rear with 235/70/15 road tires at about 12 psi.

How do you feel about removing the sway bar?

I removed mine and never looked back... you will like it.

A lift is going to stiffen up the machine quite a bit, I ended up pulling my lift off as it does not let the suspension articulate enough to my satisfaction. Tires also make a huge difference I first got a used set of 28" on 15" wheels and i did not like how they rode. Truck tires will hold up much longer with the trade off of their side walls being so stiff as to not allow the tire to flex and absorb bumps as a SXS tire does.

a 30" with 14" wheels is definitely softer and I know some people have had good success with 28" tires on 12" wheels.

I have 30s on a 14'' rim and sure does make a difference

Get rid of the lift....between it and the LT tires that thing has got to ride like a brick on steel wheels

27’s or 28’s on 12’s. The way to go unless your forking our for A-Arms and or portals.
