The box is from Tractor Supply Co. and was about $100. A number of members here have them, that's where I got the Idea. It works well.

This is my rear. Just completed my build. The rear was the last step. I had it custom made at a local welding shop. It's all aluminum with black powder coat. Very light and very strong.

Harbor Freight had a 25% off coupon and I got the small trailer box and bolted it on. The other three I just zip tied them on so I can take them off to clean or add a gas can.

I used blind nuts to mount Rotopax-it comes with all necessary mounting hardware-easily mounted even I could do it. Spare on the top as it is the only way the P5 will fit in my toyhauler. Is it too top heavy ????NO. Hope this helps. We find it safe for our basset hound and our metal detectors and lunch of course. Changes-would not have the rear gate in bottom rack-would make it easier to mount access. And it tends to rattle.
Mike - If you have time, I have another question about your Dusty Dawg carrier. It's hard to tell from the pics you've posted, but would you say your upper basket is plumb with the lower? If I go this route, I'll need the upper basket's floor to be plumb with the P500's rear rack. Just don't want to deal with loose items in the upper basket always wanting to migrate toward the low side. Thanks in advance for your help!

You need to come to a ride, you will see some really neat 500 beds. Keep an eye on your region for the next ride.

Here's my set-up for rear cargo.nothing fancy ....I did preserve the wood with green preservative paint...
Did it ever stick ,so i thought i was smart and used some leftover Black rustoleum paint on wood...Bad idea took like a 5 days to dry and stinks like hell ..Now being 1 month later smell is gone and it hard as rock..
I have enough room to put 5 and 10 litre gas cans small cooler and whatever...

Spend most of my time on this forum looking and learning. The 500 is such a blank page that the opportunity to take it in a direction all your own is one of it's greatest assets. This thread is very inspirational. There are some really talented folks here. Thanks for your help.

Oh yeah, we've had record setting snow up here in WI. My sympathies to those in or near floodplains south of us.
Nice job, real clean

Here is my hack job. I pulled a part of my deck down and reused the wood to make this. It is help on by gravity and by a few strategically placed 2x4's underneath to prevent it from sliding. I can easily pull it off to go back to the bare rack. Simple, but effective for what I need around the yard.

I didn't want an enclosed box because within days it would just be full of crap like the back of my van. I built an 11 inch high fence out of 1.5" ABS pipe that is attached to the rack with 6 zip ties so it can be removed easily.
The pipe was scrap from a local plumber and the fittings cost less than $20

Are those aftermarket wheels or are they the stock wheels painted?

Nice! I've always thought chroming the stock steel wheels would look good.

This is a great thread- thanks for showing what you’ve built. I’ve though about the possibilities and decided to order a Dusty Dawgs. Mark is sending me pictures of custom mods he’s done when he builds the racks (water/gas brackets, shovel/jack, spare tire). I’ll post with his permission.

I bought a Strong Made 252 basket for the front hood. Last elk season I found it a problem blocking my view of the trail immediately in front- even when empty. We did a 17 mile night ride to pack out an elk which my head was bent-left to avoid rocks and holes on a quad/ snowmobile trail in the national forest.

I re purposed the rack for above the roll cage. It fit great. The 2 rear holes in the bracket attached through factory bolts in the roll cage. I was going to fabricate a plate for the front, but instead used a U bolt and cut it to a J, and wrapped the rollcage with a piece of rubber (from the Honda horn bracket I did not need).

I put a 30” LED light bar on the front. To keep things in, I got 3, 24” bungee cords, cut in half and knotted the cut ends through the expanded metal along the front, so not to lose them when not holding something down.

Here’s some pictures.

We prefer something small as we use the heck out of the original rack. This little box stores a helmet, tools, a coat, extra ratchet straps and the dogs collapsible water pail. Everything stays dry and dust free for under $20. All the other necessities are stored under the hood.
