Since being active in other areas of the forum, I have noticed several members who now own something else, started out as P500 owners.

Which made me think.. How many previous P5 owners are out there? Why did they switch? What did they think of the P500? What made them choose a Talon, 700, 1000 or ReMax over the P500? Anyone still own their P5 and something else?

Anyone care to share their experience or thoughts?

Had one and liked it. The thing I didn't like is with limited suspension and the narrow width it was very easy to tip over in our steep mountain terrain. Now have a Talon X and it is better for our type of trail riding.

Bought a 2015 P500 from my niece and her husband. They bought it for their son who wouldn't ride it. I loved it, but found out quickly that it wasn't what we needed to ride like we wanted to ride. Bought a Talon X and sold the P500 to my son and daughter in law to use on their property.

Ok Ill bite cuz I think your cool @KyGal83

Mine is a bit different than the rest.
I bought a P1K5 that i still own first back in 16’ . Still have it and love it to this day. Then i wanted a P5 for our 50” trails that we have up here in the mitten. Bought it used from Jspeed and my Good friend @trigger was so graciously nice to go with me to Indiana to pick It up. It was a 15’ low miles and i moded the hell out of it. Its in my sig as Remy’s Bumblebee build. It was alot of fun. Had it for about 3yrs. It fid alot of work at the Cabin and rode many trails. But it wasnt my P1. Plus I wanted a Talon 😏 so I sold it to a farmer that needed it to check cattle. I got my money out of it. Bought a 21’ Talon and here I am. It was a fun rig. Trigg and I had one of the best rides in that thing, Ill never forget it.

Funny that this comes up now as I stumbled onto the video you took of that ride the other day. That was an awesome ride and I still think it's the best example of the P5 in it's element. There was nothing treacherous like deep mud holes or steep climbs but they were super tight trails, skinny bridges, low hanging limbs...no way a wider machine was getting through that. I've tried to find that trail several times since then and can't find it, I think it's been blocked off.

I bought a P5 new in 2016. Rode the balls off of it. The suspension sucked, and it always felt like it was going to tip over. I love my Pioneer 1000 but I would really like to get another 500 just for riding and work around my property. The main reason I upgraded was the top speed. I hated running WFO down the road at 35. The 500 is such a great work machine!

I used to have a 2017 P5. Bought it new traded it 4 months later. Kinda wish I would have kept it sometimes. The wife never liked it and after a trip to coalmont I was done with it. But it was good for 50 inch trails.

I bought my 500 in 2020 it was a great first machine. I put it to it's paces drove it hard for almost 3 years never had one problem, my biggest issues were it rode rough and it was kinda tippy. I just needed a bigger machine with more room and comfort I was fine with the 500 riding like a wagon but the woman and kid didn't much care for it,also every ride I ever rode on the 500 was with 3 people so we used it for something other than it was built for and were fine with it till we could finally upgrade to what our family liked most and wanted. If I could have kept it I would have but I couldn't justify having 2 sxs's. Now we have the Rmax and love it.

I bought a new P500 a few months ago with a few upgrades. Had a Rhino years ago but was mostly a 4 wheeler guy. Rode it to town a couple times and around our rural community but cruising at 35 mph gets old. Haven't been off road yet. In hindsight I wished I'd bought the 1000 or a Talon, or that RMAX I'm hearing such good things about. I guess I'll lose my butt on a trade so I'll probably try and sell the 500.

If you get the RMAX you'll lose your butt for other reasons.

I bought a 500 in summer of 2016. We beat the crap out of it for 2 years, usually going to windrock atleast once a month. It was a great, dependable machine that with enough speed and/or a good driver could make it about anywhere. But I always regretted not getting a bigger machine. Since we have no trail width restrictions and I "needed" more power, suspension, room for family, ect.. I sold it and bought a 1000-5 in 2018. I love that machine, was like riding in a Cadillac after getting out of a 500 and would do stuff in 2wd that would be a struggle in the 500. Probably would have kept it forever but now need even bigger back seats to fit my 6' 13 year old. So i picked up a 2022 Talon X4 in January and sold the P1k5 a few months later. Loving the Talon so far!
