More goodies arrived today. Roll of HDPE for mud skirts/flares and a sheet of 1/2" HDPE for center skid section. It was less than half the price of UHMW so we will see how long it lasts. Outside skids are UHMW.

Me too. Would have to go back and look at the price, but it was less than half. If it works, I could build the whole skids for under $250. If I get a couple years out of it or even a full season, I will be happy.HDPE gouges much easier then UHMW, I am curious how long it'll last.
You saved me a trip to lowes, thanks!

I am sure it will take a while to gouge through a half inch....hopefully.
Got the roll for the flare unrolled and flattening out. Going to get the flares done this weekend.
Already got the skid drilled, countersink and installed!
I like the triangles you cut out of the side panels, might catch less mud than mine. I would have made the sides longer and wrapped them up the firewall.I did do the front center and up the front bumper with 1/2 UHMW. Just the center wide part is HDPE. Hopefully it will see more sliding than impacting. The outside sections are UHMW as well. I also did a 1/8" steel skid plate under the rear end section to protect the diff.

Are you planning to go with some crazy offset wheels? I've never really understood the fender flare idea but especially not with stock tires
