I went through 2 amazon cheap subs that I had installed under the drivers seat - seems that they would handle the ride vibration fine but water got both. I said that if I ever replaced again I would replace with a wet sounds sub. I did not want to have the Sub in the floorboard as my son will still ride in the middle seat from time to time and no doubt something would happen. So I went with the 8" Wet sounds under the drivers seat. Yes it fits but it takes up all the room. Prior to ordering I even went an built a cardboard model to test fit.

It is still working after Takeover (and we went through a lot of water and mud) only thing I need to do is change some settings - I made all adjustments when the Honda was in the garage (it was cold outside) and I need to go back and adjust the Gain and bass boost when it is outside - both have lots of adjustment left. below are pics when first test fit

Went ahead and pulled the skids tonight. I had kind of planned on doing it after Takeover but really did not want to. Clumps of mud clinging to the the skids. I washed them down really good and will install next weekend. Plan on tipping the Honda angled on its side to spray the bottom off and maybe if I am ambitious enough I will run a few wires while the skids are off for future projects.

Any thing else I need to look for and check while these are off?

Go ahead and check the air breather tube bolts. No harm in making sure no leaks there. I checked mine while there were off.

This past weekend was more maintenance
  • Replaced the Hard top off with my screen top from Spidershade for the summer.
  • Installed BCF harness Bar
  • Changed out the Dif fluid and put in Syn 75W-140 and just a little lucas oil stabilizer
  • Tilted over and washed the underside really good
  • While the Skids were off I went ahead and ran a few extra wires for future projects while also cleaning up the existing wiring running under the floorboard. Had I know all that I would eventually do I would have run just one big loom in the beginning.
  • Reinstalled the Skid plates - if I do this again I think I might order all new hardware I did reinstall with anti seize this time.

I don't know I still cant seem to get mine clean lol every time it dries there is still dirt everywhere. I would like to find a hot water power washer I could rent once to see if that makes a difference. Need to find a local car wash with hot water to try it.. Granted I really only want to clean it really good once a year.

I completed the Door mod and went ahead and cut a hole in the rear panel on the drivers side. My original idea was to but red buttons on here and call it out as where the first aid kit was.... however I think it is easier to say "go get the red bag clipped on the passenger seat bar" than to explain how to access the panel and where it is to someone who does not know this is there - in an emergency.

So I am using this pocket to house some frequently used items that I used to store in the rear seat foot well (that usually got covered in some mud) I am housing my Tire plug kit and my Tree saver and D rings.

Here is the hole empty

Here it is with the latches installed

I will take a few pics of the gear inside but basically I have my tire plugs and tools in a zip lock tucked at the bottom of the pocket and then I have my Tree saver and D rings in a dry bag. I may end up moving my tire plugs to where the air compressor is as I figure if you use the plugs you will need the compressor.

Try a local semi garage or trucking company. They always seem to have the steam pressure washers and a wash bay.

Took time today to replace the brake pads all around, grease the SATV arms where I could, tighten the SATV arm jam nuts - with added Locktight and greased the bearings with an over the axle greaser. I had had a squeak in the driver side rear but that is all gone and the Honda runs with no squeaks at least for now.
O I also replaced the bushing in the steering box and the passenger side tie rod as it had a slight bend in it. Since I had one on hand and everything was off I figured might as well

Brakes - rear brakes needed replacing bad

Front breaks still had some life in them but they were wore down just below a quarter of the new ones

Pics of the bushing- I can’t really tell if the old was that worse or not but the new one did tighten up the wheel play at lease a little bit.

I’ll have to go look but I know you have more miles than me. While I have been in some mud... I would not say that I am in a lot of mud.. but breaking on some of the bigger down hills here with rocks probably wore through them faster as well.

It was crazy to see grass and junk in there around the pads when I will pulling the old off and putting the new in.. lol

@Cuoutdoors check you back pads first, those have a lot less material than the fronts. I could have left my fronts on there a little while longer but definitely had to change the backs. I was a little surprised that they had worn down that much myself. If it had not been for a squeak on my last ride I probably would not have thought it time to check them.

I will check them out. Did you get honda replacements or something else?
