I think it's time to present my P500 to the public. I bought it about a month ago and from the start equipped with :

OEM parts (most of them I've got from www.rockymountainatvmc.com, bc of point system and discounts) :
- front underhood tray - I really liked the idea to stay compact as much as possible and use this space for wich related items, tools and not only.
- underseat storage box
- fabric doors and rear panel
- horn kit and accessory sub harness
- rear view mirror
- rubber floor mats
- front bumper ( I've ordered strong made bumper, but my order was lost, after two weeks wait, I called found that they misplaced my info, since it would postpone my assembly for another two weeks, I wend ahead and got honda bumper from RM ATV with 50$ off discount and another thing you should consider there is no brush guard for lights like OEM has or Bison bumper ).
- rear bumper
- hard roof
- full poly hard coat windscreen

Aftermarket parts:
bought from amazon
- Aqua-Hot 200 Series Cab Heater EXE-200-200
- ProGrip 220400 6' x 2" Polyester Webbing Tree Saver with Loops

-

Ebay:

- 5 NEW GOODYEAR HVAC HEATER HOSE, WIRE SHAPING COIL (P/N GY34BX) - for directing heater hoses
- 2015 Honda Pioneer 500 SXS500M2 Rear frame plug 8 piece set Caps / Covers from mikescycle-wi ( here I would ask him to add two round plugs and 4 square shape, I found extra two tube holes open on the bottom , the U shaped tube and 4 square that are a bit smaller so cutting with knife for exact fit required, the square shaped located next to exhaust and two in the cabin.
- Millitary NATO jerry can and holder

Aluminum products front and rear arm guards - Honda Pioneer 500 2015-2016 | Aluminum Products, Inc.

SSS offroad skid plate from overstock.com that was cancelled after contacting $$$ offroad owner who facilitated this process to keep high pricing across all vendors even for the price of his reputation.
This action promoted other "doors" to open for me and I went into DIY route and built my own plate from UHMW.

Summit racing heater and hoses : this project did not work out, because I've decided to keep under-hood cargo space open and installing into cabin was not feasible option.

Home depot - several things for noise isolation and cab insulation/dust protection ( this is ongoing project).

Petco - Kong XL size dog toy for winch stopper ( for P700 owner XXL and for P1000 - XXL and X long sizes :) required )

etrailer.com - Curt 26x41 ATV Cargo Carrier fro 94 $, twice less then other brands. Just a bit narrower (41" instead of 45") but its ok.

From Big sky rack - dual gun rack system

Plano trunk fro 21 $ , from online vendor, just google

I think that should be all , if anything missing will update later.

Please before ordering online, call some companies and inquire about any forum discounts, usually you may get 40-50$ off and free shipping.

@solrus looking good!

And you are right about the pricing from RMATV, I did the same thing in August 2015 on mine and with the genuine Honda accessories already about 15%-25% off depending upon the item and their additional 10% coupons and RM bonus cash I figured I saved about 35% total of all my accessories which shipped free and arrived the very next day for me, not to mention no sales tax.

I started getting prices from some dealers for the P1000-5 accessories as what I want comes to about $7800 MSRP and after the state sales tax offsetting the dealer negotiated discounts I figure I can save about $1900 through RMATV once they are fully stocked for the P1000 like they are for the P500 & P700 SXS. With the dealer wanting to charge for installation the total saving over doing it myself and ordering online would be nearly $3600 that's just makes it a deal breaker for me as I don't have to finance the accessories with the price of the machine.

Off soapbox.

Damn fine P500 you got there. @solrus

Thank you sir! I'm still thinking about replacing seats, some time in the future. Just got a bit drained by plumbing the heater , it will be peace of cake in p1000 bc of space .
Actually saw p1000 yesterday at honda dealer, very nice, but too wide for me for now and I need to work on finding wife first and then making kids to justify buying p1000.

If you get the Wife 1.0 Deluxe, she likes to ride along. Kids 1.0, 2.0, and if you're up for it 3.0 will all like to ride. Once you have a kid 4.0 you will need Pioneer 2.0.
LOL tell it like it is brother!

Looks good! Like your setup. It's a little like mine. I'm glad to see someone else with a full cab enclosure. I was worried that I was the only one who went that route.

Thank you, sir. I would not worry, but I would worry when central Montana winds blowing and especially now. Comfort first. I plan to insulate is as much as i can .

One thing that I did was to wrap my front posts with the same foam tubes you used on the top of your roll cage. I also wrapped the front and bottom of my solid doors with it. that cut down on the drafts quite a bit. I'm ready for an aftermarket "hard" cab enclosure, with a glass windshield and wiper setup. While pleased with the soft doors and poly windshield, I can see room for improvement, especially since there's only about 3 weeks a year that I don't need a cab up here in AK.

What did you do with holes around Rear gear knob, all holes on the front grill? When I drive 25 and up to 41 mph :), it blows my mind away :)

I haven't done anything, because airflow doesn't bother me like rain does. Ha! I know that it will never be "airtight", but as long as I can knock most of the elements off me, I'm happy. One good thing about some airflow is that the windshield has never fogged. Ha! Gotta look for the silver lining!

I am hoping the airflow, will be my antifogging device. we get really heavy wind gusts out here, it's mostly wide open fields and farm land. SO I got the full cab to stay out of the wind.

Well, here on the island wind is the worst thing we deal with. We have periodic sustained winds of 40-60mph, sometimes lasting for 5-6 days at a time. Last week, we had 3 days of 65-80mph sustained winds for almost 4 whole days. Throw some rain into the equation, and driving to work is like going through a carwash. I have the cab "sealed" enough that I can run errands around town in a raincoat, (over normal clothes), and stay dry and warm. About the only thing that gets cold is my hands. This is due to one of the gaps (above the solid door, below/beside the windshield) that is hard to seal. This is also my primary airflow gap. A pair of gloves solves that problem. I'm happy with my cab, but would definitely purchase an upgraded version with a glass windshield and more substantial doors. The only reason that I even considered buying a RZR was the availability of fiberglass aftermarket cabs with sealing doors. There are 2-3 companies that make cabs for RZRs that make them into 4wd SmartCars. One company even makes a remote operated trunk lid for the RZR bed. I believe it's called Open Country Cabs, but I'd have to look it up to be sure. Hopefully, they will start producing things for the Pioneer line very soon.

If your only option is a RZR with a Cab it seems like you might be better off moving somewhere else...

I agree somewhat with your statement. We only have 8-9 miles of pavement here on the island, but we have hundreds of miles of ATV trails. I had no plans of widening all of the trails, so that limited me to a 50" machine. I wanted something with an easily available cab, and that further limited my options, as Arctic Cat Trails, and the "off brands" didn't offer much in that department. That left the Polaris 570/800/900 RZR and the P500 to choose from. I liked the aftermarket parts selection of the RZR, but was not enthused by the CVT drivetrain, the fit & finish, or the ergonomics of the RZR. I wanted something to use on a daily basis, not a hot rod. These factors, plus my affinity for Hondas, are what influenced my purchase. However, the aftermarket cabs available made me consider the Polaris, as my rig's primary use is daily transportation. Being warm and dry makes up for a multitude of sins. Ha! I'm happy with my choice, and have no regrets, but I'm patiently waiting for something better from the aftermarket manufacturers to come up with a better cab system. Windshield wipers and sealing doors would be a great Christmas present.

Oh, I know. I just wish we had a better cab system. Most people don't need a cab, or only need it a couple months a year. I need mine about 10-11 months a year. Weather is a factor in every purchase made in AK. If my cab was just a temporary thing, it would be perfect. However, running it full-time, I can pick apart it's weaknesses, and see where other manufacturers' products have an edge. I still believe the P500 is the best fit for my needs, but anything can be improved upon.
