P1000 Stuck in 1st gear

We were riding for about 30 min then all of sudden gear indicator went missing and wouldn't show the gears now it will not switch to manual and won't s*** out of first anybody had this happen yet ? Oils are fine wasn't doing anything but riding dirt roads with my wife and kids when it happened ....idles fine but alittle hard to shift from park to high and sounds abnormal while doing it

Yes , it happened to me once. Is the dash flashing any codes ? I dont really know why mine did it but i shut it off and restared and mine was fine. I checked my ground wire on battery and it was a tad loose so i tightened it up . It hasnt happened since that one time . Dont know if the loose cable caused or fixed it either way

It has defaulted to limp mode.
Check all your fuses. I remember someone else had an obscure fuse that was blown.
I think someone else disconnected the battery for a minute.

Accessory fuse was blown on mine once and did that.not sure why. Check for a code though

No code and no fuses blown and extremely hard to change gearing I believe I've been acquainted with the infamous clutch problems !!!

It doesn't sound like a clutch problem IMO. You may need to reset the ECM theres a thread on here somewhere for that.

Code 42 - thats not listed in the service manual.

Possible chasis ground problem (under drivers seat)?

I have yet to figure out how the read these codes correctly.
Some say put them together like @ghost did = 42.
Other say 4 long 2 short =4-2
so.. IDK. Another topic for another day!

Anyways..
42-1 is..
function failure - shift switch malfunction, loose or poor contact of the EOT sensor. EOT sensor malfunction
symptom - gear shift function doe snot work (1st gear only)
page 11-27

or...
4-2 is...
function failure - Dual clutch PC solenoid valve drive circuit malfunction
symptom - gear shift function doe snot work
page 11-13

I'm going to go through it again today when I get off ! When I start it ... it clanks into gear then is next to impossible to move it to high or low or neutral I'm going to check all plugs etc
