Caught in another video, Reverse in Talon is geared 18% lower than Pioneer and shifts 50% faster that the Pioneer (time it takes to change each gear). And they can handle and clear 30" tires no problem from Honda staff. Also claim in can be jumped and landed with throttle pinned and axels will hold up. Hmmm.

The information I got pre-release said they spent much time to study axle destruction. Apparently the R&D guys had 3 competitors models and could snap an axle on any of them on demand. This was a big focus for those guys, they spent 48 hours non-stop and over 2000 miles in the desert testing the Talon. Only stopped to switch out test riders and couldn't break it.

I've been thinking about the I4WD system and what it does air born, does it brake some on all four wheels until landing and go into launch mode?

I wouldnt think so, it only senses when a wheel is spinning and the opposite, same axle wheel isnt. So when airborne theyll sense all wheels spinning the same speed or similar and not intervene.

They could have gave to @JTW for 15 minutes and saved a bunch of time and money on that test.

Maybe they just need to try 100 miles in Tackett Creek in Pioneer TN , a dozen trips up and down Hells Canyon and No Business Hollow would be a lot tougher than riding across the desert. Those trails have sent a lot of ambitious young men dragging their busted $25k SXS back to the trailer with axels, diffs, trailing arms, and wheel hubs dislocated and snapped. That place you can just about break anything on demand.

Of course they can get into stuff close to that where they already test in TN anyway just about 50 miles west of there.
