Scottish . Brits. Ha, them’s fighting words. Haha
I think I have a picture.
It’s even a little spicy.
Eat that for breakfast before hunting, you’d be able to take a 10 pointer out by yourself.

My wife had some of that the last time she went to England...by mistake...thought it was sausage. She did not come back with that as a positive experience.

You're right Caper...I will eat most things but squishy guts filled grubs won't be repeated soon. I think when I quit smoking and stopped drinking alcohol 21 years ago I may have restricted my intake to things generally on the menu of better joints. That's not to say I'm not open to trying new things...put some of that fire roasted green peppers on the grubs and they might be OK...or not.

BTW, last big deer I shot an arrow thru was an ugly 11 point...only shot it to get it out of the gene pool...nasty mutant maybe fathered by that big hairy guy. I'm guessing he get horny too.

I'm a big fan of cod...around here...imported from Canada I bet. I see the PM says it's OK to bring dead fish across the border.
Yep, me too, although it’s a bit more scarce than it once was so big corporations like McDonalds have gone to Pollock or other more plentiful white fish.

What about Chilean Sea Bass.....😋

Yip...sea base be good too.
I'm guessing the cook at Taco Loco uses pollock in his tacos. Nothing wrong with pollock that I can tell. He does a good job of frying them on the grill in some sort of oil and they come out of a pan with a liquid in it and it sizzles when it hits the grill. Need to ask next time I'm there.

Growing up in Florida we lived on a lake and my Mother would catch bigmouth bass for dinner. She would also cook frog legs if I would collect them...she fried a lot in lard and I've used lard some recently but it's not the same. I think we somehow take the flavor out of the lard when we process it now...or maybe it was just how Mom did it.

Bradford Pear Trees don't hold up well in wind storms like last night, neighbors got a 15 year old that a 1/3 of it's on the ground for the 3rd time since he planted it, he's camping, started to let him know, but he can be disappointed when they get home.

Having the same problem with plum trees. When I cleared the spot for buildings 4 years ago I planted plum trees...damn things seem to just fall over on purpose to piss me off. Good to know about the Bradford pears...thanks Smitty!!

Bradford Pear Trees are ornamental, no fruit. A lot of cities are replacing these with other trees because they consider them invasive.

More good info. There are those who would consider me invasive...but I really want fruit if I can keep the deer, moose, elk and turkeys from eating them. Spring gobbler opens in 5 days.

No, not a thing wrong with Pollock, good white fish.
As to cooking with lard, yeah, tasty as can be and a reason why life expectancy was shorter and heart and artery problems killed people much younger, damn it....😡

Now your wife cooks for you the healthy way in an air fryer....😂

Couldn't agree more. I'm still using a cast iron, steel and stainless steel frying things. She loves the air thing, I'm not sold yet but I do use grape seed, avacado and olive oil and plant based butter. Over easy eggs, good grilled cheese and like food belongs in a fry pan.

I'll bet majority of local "Southwestern food" cooks use lard...it's the taste that belongs in that food.

Agreed, we do exactly the same thing. The air fryer is the best way of cooking healthy that I’ve found yet. But for flavor, you just can’t beat lard/bacon fat....

At least we’re doing better....🤔

BTW, have you looked in on the Rimrocker Trail thread lately? There’s a bit of discussion going on about communication radios...

I'll do that. I have the TH-8600 waiting to be installed. Antenna is in place. I'm a little frustrated at the FCC license process...there is a question about location of antenna and I can't answer "mobile" so I'll call them and wait on the line for 45 minutes or so...but I will prevail.

Awesome, I’ve got the same radio. Just waiting to figure out if Tramgauge needs to program mine again or not...🤔

We’ll sell you fish. But I guess cod stocks are low, so they say. Damn seals if you ask me. A guy on one of our Friggets said they went by an ice flow about 10 miles long off NFLD and he said you couldn’t stuff another seal on that flow there were that many seals. I said they should have tried out the Falanx . Probably not spelled right. Haha Made the ice red. 😊
