Still real windy here. They have a ban for trucks with trailers on the major highways. Saw a few power poles snapped on the way into work. I haven’t had a chance to assess any property damage yet. Supposed to go on all day.
Yeah we got a little wind but nothing like that. Blaaaaaaa. This sucks. Haha

22 more days...
Haha, that’s funny from a guy that lives in the Maritimes. Do you remember 14’ , haha. I’m really hoping it’s in 22 days. Today sucks. Thank god for a good snowblower. Like snowblowing water. But toooo heavy to shovel. You guys probably got the same.

Oh , and fingers crossed for my power. A friend with big Alberta money, put up a huge cottage, haha, right on the water looking at PEI. He has a outside generator that comes on automatically when the power goes out. Except he’s in Calgary most of the time. He has a camera looking at the thermostat and noticed it was getting cold in the house. He called his brother in law to go see what was up and why the gen didn’t kick in. He called him back and said it did, but didn’t switch back to normal power . So he had a propane tank like at MacDonalds or something , and it was empty. $3,000 worth of propane. Wow. I think he can afford it, but , crazy. And yes it’s fixed now. Haha

a lot better ways you can do that, one of the million jobs I had was worked on the bigger kohler generators. most of the transfer switches have monitor outputs for "commercial on" and "gen on" most just power lights In a remote panel but no reason you coudnt have a program that will send alerts to your phone these days. worked on ac that had that too you could work on it from home or your phone

we lost power today the wife said, school was canceled and her work didn't have power, but I'm still working unfortunately still have power. use to have a gen that did everything, furnace, fridge, tv and crap but it went through 5 g every 8 hrs so my three cans go in a day, makes it a problem. got a 2k inverter and it uses a gallon same time, just wont run the furnace, I run a lot of wood in the house anyway and I made sure you could use that with no power.the gauge I have on the transfer switch says like 1k most of the time with that stuff on

I put a gen switch panel in and haven’t lost power since. Haha. It will Ron the furnace, water heater, fridge, lights and computer and tv. I want to get a propane generator. Sucks worrying about gas in it. I have stabilizer good for a year, boat stabilizer, but still.

Cool. Groomed trails ? What do you have for a machine ? Not a lot of trails around HALIFAX but in Cape Breton, they cover the island and New Brunswick it’s huge. Trails to Maine and Quebec. Hotels and gas , everything on the trails. Probably the same there. Need a vacation after the vacation. We’re getting your blizzard right now. Haha Have a great week Remi.

Yes we have a lot of trails too. We’re in the snowmobile mecha of Michigan so there’s a lot to ride and see there. There also the trails we ride with the pioneer in the summer. I’m going to be getting tracks for the pioneer so it’s easier for us to get back to the cabin. I keep the sled in the garage up there. I have an Arctic Cat 2 up 550 2 stroke

gas ones are tough to keep going propane is no problem. all the kohlers I took care of were diesel which isn't a problem if you get the winter stuff lasts a while too. my gen wouldn't idle down, tried it this weekend, idle jet was clogged but I had stabil In it, just tiny carb ports seems like. might try just draining it. you have to do that or use it every few months with new gas and stabil. the panels are real nice, most people back feed the panel and can cause some issues if you do something wrong, peoples death for one

Ours was frozen snow on top of an inch or 2 or heavy snow. No way I could have cleared that without the snowblower! School is closed today, and the grandsons are coming for the afternoon. Maybe we'll go see a movie. They have way too much energy for us to keep up with them...

Nice. My brother in Margaree has two Skidoo’s. Renegades ? We’ll be able to do more when my wife retires in just over a year. Can’t wait. My neighbor, in Cape Breton, big country boy, has a Yamaha 1000 something, two years ago he went to a party in Judique, there was too much snow for his friends smaller machine so they went the groomed trail. He left at 3am to come home and decided to go over the mountain. He had a couple pop. He got to the road that cuts across to his place, it was huge drifts, he said it looked like big waves on the ocean. He checked his gas, and off he went. Standing it on end and jumping the drifts, zig zagging. Then he went off the road. The machine was almost straight up. He tried everything to get it out. Not his first rodeo. -20 and miles from anywhere. The only thing that saved his life was he had good gear, he was a big boy, and he used the motors warmth to stay a little warm. He started walking out the next day and of course all the screwing around made the walk almost undo able. Snow to his waist. He was almost to the road where he stopped to check his gas , and someone saw him going by on another machine. His whole family was away and no one knew where he was. They were looking. Close call. Thanks Remi

can get dangerous quick, If you go off the trail easy to get stuck or go through a barb wire fence, a lot of farms here and its tough to see. also don't drink till after, seems like everyone thinks they are indestructible when they do

Yeah when I was a kid I’d have to be shoveling. That helps with the energy. Haha. Have a great day

Yeah, I don’t think he’ll do that again. He realizes he was really lucky.
