Now that's a man after my heart...I know just where my grinder/stuffer is located. Last chest we had was in AK and it was so full I hated it since it seemed we had to dig to the bottom to find what we wanted. Everything was wrapped in freezer paper and was labelled but still...PIA. Each February I cleaned it out and gave the food to a "food kitchen"...wish I had some of that halibut and salmon now.

Is the bratwurst a German recipe?

it's amazing how you can put something in a chest freezer and the next day it's right at the bottom 🤣 .yes german recipe.my wife is 1'st gen canadian,mom/dad were german.both my oldest boys worked in our local butcher shop through highschool so we can't do store bought bacon/sausage.we're spoiled for life.

What a deal!! #1 son did 6 years at Safeway as a butcher and he's handy to have around too!! We;re from Irish so all we get is potato recipes. My wife's half Polish (not sure which part) and they can do lots of good sausage...I'm good for most anything but sage in sausage.

It’s been quite clear in NM, but once I got away from the Rockies and out into the plains of the Texas panhandle, and then Oklahoma and Arkansas, the air quality and visibility was amazingly poor. I can’t believe that much smoke has made it so Far East….😳

We don’t have smoke, but we do have beautiful sunsets at the camp.

Yeah...she's been to 40 some countries including some nasty ones and usually qualified with handgun, AR and shotgun as needed but that was years ago and now she's a food wimp and has some uncontrollable need to follow recipes...no desire to create or experiment and create new dishes...yes...food wimp. I think she probably ate cat and dog in several countries but wouldn't consider alpaca sausage or jerky...food wimp!! She did give birth to a couple kids which I would not consider doing. Good thing I figured out what was causing it and put a stop to it.

Yeah, she’s a keeper.

Our weather has been cool for the past month. We got to the beach but the water was cold. Rain every two or three days.
It poured on us coming home from a ride on Thursday. It sucked worse for Pete, he doesn’t have a windshield. Just a short one. They were soaked. Still had fun.

Everything is definitely green. You could graze your cattle in my backyard. But it’s too wet to mow.

Store bought bacon-puke, we buy bacon from a real meat market in MO, Hatifields.

i have 5 lbs brining right now.they go in the smoker with a pork butt tomorrow morning .

We usually buy 20 LBS at a time, Hatfields is an ole time meat store, it usually lasts around 5 months.
