Ended 2019 with the cup holder mod. Opted for the black instead of stainless.

Been ordering bolts and sh** lately for the skids and an upcoming mod and been doing some learning. Just wanted to point out that the Class 8.8 bolts at Home Depot are not Grade 8's. In fact, they don't carry any metric bolts in Grade 8 or even 5 at HD, Menards or TSC either. I had to order them and even then they're not easy to find. Settled for 10.9's which have a similar shear strength to 8's. Big difference though, like 100,000 lb to 838 lbs for the 8.8's. Big difference in price too. They'd be okay for stuff not real important. ;)

Moved my plow relay because I’ve got a box on the way!
Also adding a couple of lights for night plowing while I have access to the wiring.

So where dose one put the solenoid so it is out of the way?
I just installed my winch and thought about making a spot for the solenoid but then I didn't want it in the way of a glove box or EPS or the under hood cargo tray.
Then I started thinking about making a tray to hold ammo cans instead of the cargo tray.
Finally decided to use the Honda bracket since I will end up moving the solenoid several times anyway.

Mounted mine on the firewall when I first got the machine, not knowing there was a place meant for it on the frame. Actually worked out better, after all the crap I've added and changed I've never touched it. ;)

I only moved mine to the left a little bit, I guess it would be on the inner fender. That way I didn’t have to make any wiring changes.

Cut up a fallen storm damaged tree, half of it was hanging over the creek so the P500 winch helped out. That wireless remote was so handy pulling out a tangled mess of branches.

A majority of winch operations should happen outside the rig so you can watch winch and or machine. As a truck/Jeep wincher for years, the first time I used an incab SxS switch :mad:I knew it was going to be the last.

Yep..I can operate mine from a dash switch, rocker switch mounted at the winch,or by 10ft. remote.

My cheap wireless remote kept in the Choobox is still working with original battery 2+ years. The best Accessory for under $20. Range is more than cable length. Wish I had a wireless remote back in 1980s with the FJ40 and 8000lb Warn winch. Think I paid $400 back then, and the new version is now $2k. One BA winch.

What year is that FJ?.I had a 71,72,and a 74 with the 350 Chevy conversion.In my opinion,the 6's were better.My 71 was like your light blue one.If I remember correctly,my 71 was 3 speed on the tree.
