Got in some mud and my winch wouldn't come out or go in. Finally got it out since it seemed to be gummed up but it didn't want to put the cable back in. It's a supertera 4500. I got home and pulled it all the way out and ran it back in since it may have just been discombobulated. Anyone else every have this issue?

Motor was running and i want to say winch was turning. Don't know if it's bc of cable being gummed up and muddy possible something with the winch?

Yeah, sounds like it was gummed up. I've had to tie my winch hook to a tree before and back up to pull the cable out while holding down the "out" button. That would be hard to do if I was the one that was stuck.

That sounds about right then. Had to use the Foreman and pull out the cable. Anything better to use than the cable?

I don't guess I'll get into the debate between wire rope or synthetic rope because I don't know enough about both sides to speak confidently. I will say that I try to roll the wire rope up evenly and neatly on the spool and it seems to have helped my problem.

I hook mine to a tree and pull it out every once and awhile to straighten it out on spool. I did grease my whole line. I had some old grease and just rubbed it on a rag and rubbed down my whole cable. i don't know if it helps or not. The cable can get bind up and not move.
