Thanks for the link. Some good stuff in there. I'm thinking I'll stick with 6 ga. wire. Hopefully today will search around a little for a spot for the circuit breaker near the battery.

Ok, decided to go with 4 gauge. Figured this is a good place for a spot of overkill.
Will try to use the supplied cables for the short run from breaker to battery. I believe they are 6 ga.

What about this location for the circuit breaker, top left of picture. Sitting on a cross frame member above the rear shock mount. Battery box just visible in the picture.

I think I can get a couple of good zip ties on it

Also there is a pre-traced cutout on the backside of the dash for toggle switches.
Didn’t know that....
Figures you would, many times as you’ve had yours disassembled and reassembled again....🤣🤣👍

now I'm thinking of mounting both winch switches on the blank panel, left of 12v plug. It's a bit more cumbersome, but shouldn't be needing them too often or quickly, hopefully! thinking this keeps my dash clear for things needed more often, more quickly. light switches, ram mount, turn signals, whatever.

Thoughts?

It's all personal preference. I plow with mine so wanted the rocker very accessible. As for the remote, I put mine next to the cig lighter. I figure if the machine is on one of its sides in a water hole, being in the middle is the best shot I have at getting to it.

If doing that, keep in mind the breaker amp rating should not exceed the rating of the supplied cables.
I would suggest confirming the supplied power cable gauge in the owners manual ? (6 ga. or 8 ga, noticed some come with 8).

My circuit breaker is too small. Decided to skip it for now. Direct wired to battery with 4 gauge for now. Will add 300 amp breaker later.

Install of KFI 4500 lb winch on Strong Made bumper is finished.

Mounted both the rocker switch and the wired remote plug on dash panel left of 12v outlet.

Wired exactly per instructions but it ran reverse of switch direction. Switched the winch cables at the solonoid and all good.

Unable to post pics from my phone anymore like I've been doing.

Probably drilled out the rivets. At some point I intend to spray it camo green and put it back on.

One thing I don't like is how the electric contact pretty much is out front and center and susceptible to impacts.

Too soon to say, really. Comfy when I went down the street yesterday. They're hell on the lawn, should be great on the trail!
