Car seat solutions

Hey Guys. I purchased a 1000-3 back in December. It didn’t take long to figure out my 5 year old needs a better, safer way of tagging along on a trail ride. I looked all over the internet to maybe find a car seat that would meet the requirements of a sxs. This Model by Graco can be found at local Walmart’s and mine was 99.98 plus tax. I am removing the existing seat belt latch’s and modifying them to accept the latch for the car seat. I’m also mounting a small d ring on the tubular frame in the back for the rear latch. It’s a perfect fit . Hope this helps someone!

My daughter in law and son have the same setup so they can take my granddaughter's along for the ride. Of course they ride pretty mellow when the young one's are on board.

Very nice, I have my sons seat mounted in the back (I have the 1000-5) but I like this a lot better. Thanks for sharing!

Since I don't do any kind of serious 'off roading' with the grandkids, we don't use child restraints. They can just sit on the seats or in our laps. I know that is a no-no in a car on the road, but for play riding the babies, I am good with it.

Absolutely, I wouldn't worry with it if we were just putting around. we do some longer trail rides and she needs it there. Another advantage is it keeps her off that Hot seat. We have a 2018 and I was surprised by how much heat was created in that center area. A comfortable 5 year old sure helps make the ride a lot better. lol

How do you have it mounted in the back ? I went to install my little guys seat yesterday and I couldn't get it to be secure without heavy modifications, So i just put him up front on the passenger side, so the wife has to sit in the middle.

You can fix the hot seat problem with a role of aluminized plastic thermal shielding from Home Depot or Lowe’s. Just installed it under Honda’s comfort kit. Make sure it wraps up the seat back 6” or so.
