I looked all over and finally found my old pics of some bikes I have had and raced.first is a 465 Yz,1984 Yz 490 1991 KTM 250 was my first race bike,1993 KTM mx250...I did good on KTM but at the time they were heavy and slower. 1994 Yz 250 was my favorite I have totes full of trophies from that bike. The 99 Yz 400 was great to ride but tight tracks you had to be careful not to stall. This year I'm going to hit a few races""plus 45""and vet class.... Dumb,I know but I have to.

I am be telling my age here but you have not truly lived or ridden until you straddled a Honda CR250M better know as the Elsinore, it was not a matter if it bucked you off but when and how bad. Mine was a '74 I was was on a waiting list to get it.

I’ve got a friend that has a pretty nice restored one. He still occasionally rides it in the vintage class at The Desert 100 in Odessa Washington when we go out.

The is way cool, I wish I still had mine. Those Elsinors bring a fair price but to those that have them or owned them they are worth their weight in gold. Really glad to hear your friend still rides and competes with his.

I’d use the term competes lightly, he’s like me we just go out and spit a few rocks occasionally, leave the helicopter rides to the others!

Wow I wished I would have had one of those.Them old Honda's were sweet.Heres my mom getting the old 79 Xr 250 a little air with us.
She have to my brother and when he passed I grabbed it fast and redid it.I still ride it till this day.I followed this bike everywhere when I was Younger.it has 7200 miles and never had engine rebuilt.all stock and all there.

klr 250, so it's not technically a dirt bike, but damn it's a lotta fun. Seems like I ride this, while my wife takes the dog in the 500. Works out ok, cause the dog can't ride the bike.

Hahaha That was my Bob Hanna special edition.It was auto graphed by him.Bob and Doug Henry were are Idols back in the days.Look at them gum boots, probably the reason my arches hurt so badly today. I got to meet him when I raced at the one and only Cleveland supercross in 95.He was cool as sheet. I ended up getting a 3rd and 2nd place finish and he told me to get rid of the KTM and buy a Yamaha and I would be in first place. Boy was he right

Ow yea, down pipes, how many times you cut a hole in the top to beat the bottom smashed pipe out and then braze it up with a coat hanger? And you sunk 6 inches into the seat.

Had all of’em back in the day. Some were a real challenge to keep running. Heck some of them vibrated so bad you had to keep tightening the motor mount bolts almost daily.

Remember the Yamaha 500cc single 2 stroke? Had a piston like a 1 lb coffee can. It was a monster but a bear to keep pistons in. Kept breaking rings if the ports weren’t chamfered just so.

The motocross track I used to race at when I was just a wee lad had them all. I would love to have a Hodaka Wombat.

Old 78 650 specials. I had a bunch of these gems
I would buy and touch up and resale to afford my racing.

I always had a shed or 2 full

This is My in the works 72 Suzuki Blazer
When I was 14 I would sneek this girl out and ride all night. Chasing tail

Also hap my share of Pooooolaris too. So I earned my right to bich.

Now I watch my kids and wife ride. It's awsome, my kids and wife weren't around when I raced all the time. They see me at the local track now and will come to a race with me this year...I'm hoping my youngest catches the bug.

I have been wanting to pull all the toys out and snap a pic to show my sickness I have.but in my town I can't afford for certain neighbors to see I have stuff to steal........Nnow that little bike on the left is a "Baja doodle bug" it's a pile of fun.
we ride it everywhere. It's way easier when kids are riding to help them.Its great when camping to ride to the bath house. And late at night drinking doing donuts on wet grass...
