Wolf Snouts work well with helmets, not as good without. They were designed to fit inside the chin guard of helmet and the helmet holds the head strap in place.
These days I just wear a neck gaiter if needed. Usually I'm in front reading the maps though! I don't like being in the front all the time but no one else ever wants to read maps!
I grew up with rice farmers. As kids we did our share of work during harvest time and inhaled plenty of rice chaff and dust.
