I bet you have 7k lbs axels and mine has 8k lbs axels.

Odd.

When I bought mine a few weeks ago I knew that by the time I loaded the P1000-5 and the rest of the gear plus camping gear I’d be right at the limit of the 14k GVWR advertised in the brochure. I was happy when I discovered that I actually had 15.7k GVWR to work with instead.

Well, I’m hoping that I’ve found an inexpensive and easy way to put some more space between the trailer and cab...

That may work provided the measurements plus 10” will still rotate inside your truck bed.
You mean the pin box hitting the tailgate and bed rails???

Actually I’m hoping they have a 5” offset inner tube which I believe will be sufficient. Honestly what I’m trying to achieve is the ability to turn lock to lock when going forward, whatever that would translate to, probably 70*-75*????

That measurement is 32”....

So......it looks like that gets me to 80*-85* as things are without hitting bed rails, which I believe would be lock to lock on steering. But would be reduced drastically with that 10” offset inner tube for the gooseneck.......defeating the purpose.

Only that 5” offset ball that drops in the bed would slide the camper back but leave things as they are with regards to the pin box at the bed rails....

The ONLY gooseneck adapter allowed by Lippert is the Reesegoose box.

All the others have been well documented to tear up fifth wheel trailers and should be avoided at all costs.

Been there done that. Plz learn from my experience. 5th wheels are not constructed like traditional gooseneck trailers. The pin box cannot handle the moment placed on it by these adapters and will crack the frame without serious modifications and reinforcement of the pin box mounting flanges and frame.

A simple google search for Ranch Hitch Failures will yield many pages of pictures of the destruction.

I had a Ranch Hitch on a 2008 Fleetwood fiver. It was the most chucking worthless pos ever made. You could see the flex in the camper as you went down the road.

Never ever again.
I have a Goosebox on my 40' Columbus and love it. Very few gooseneck hitches offer an airbag on them. It makes a big difference in the ride. Most manufacturers will not warranty the coach if you have installed an aftermarket gooseneck assembly on your 5er. You'll notice on a true gooseneck equipped trailer, there's additional gussets welded to the frame for the added stress. Bolting a gooseneck hitch to your fifth wheel hitch is not enough.

Yeah, I’m trying to stay with the gooseneck system.
