I believe it is because of the push button detent on the factory ball.

All other systems have a lever connected to a pin that goes through the goose ball. This lever is usually in the drivers wheel well.
Hmmmm, they just called and said the new glass is in my truck, headed that way now and I’ll look and see if I have that.

If you were to offset the gooseneck connection on the trailer vs the truck similar to this.
Ranch Hitch Adapter 5th Wheel Hitch - Stinger and Cable System for 8 inch offset Ranch Hitch Adapter no base [HASHTAG]#3140[/HASHTAG]

It lengthens the total pivoting arm in side the bed of the truck. If too long it will hit the side of your box before it hits the cab.
But I was thinking more like this one. Just waiting on them to tell me that it will work on my truck...it looks just like the bottom of the ball that’s in there now....

You could go AUH which does move back the connection point.
Is the anderson AUH compatible with the Ford Puck system?? And do you know how many inches it would move the camper back?

I have seen people on FTE whom are using the AUH in two versions.

The gooseneck version can be used. I’ve seen people cut holes where the pucks would go and use the pucks as chain points.

There is also the rail version. I’ve seen it where people purchased a fiver base plate for the pucks and the purchased the rail version of the AUH and set it on that base.

I’ll take some measurements this afternoon when I get home.

Maybe it’s worth a trip to a paintless dent repair shop?

On my 2012 F250 I had a golf ball hit my drivers side door ( I live next to a course). $70 bucks later the local paintless dent repair guy had it looking like new.

A reputable body shop pointed me in that direction.

I’ve always heard that that won’t work on corners... but it’s worth an ask.

Actually though, don’t forget this is aluminum, doesn’t have memory like steel.

So with that system I would have to cut and modify my bed/the Ford Puck system?....

No only if you wanted to use the pucks as chain points otherwise you would leave them off.

Hopefully my iPhone measurements are enough.

The adapter that clamps on the king pin can go either forward of the king pin or in the rear of it. It’s about 4” in length center to center of the king pin and the socket that rests on the ball.

If you have the adapter forward of the king pin it moves the trailer back about 4” but lengthens the pivot point arm by the same amount. This won’t work on my truck as have a roll up cover. It may on yours.

If the adapter is rear of the king pin, the pivot point is now behind the king pin and brings the trailer closer. The king pin will actually be above the square box that is centered on your gooseneck bed ball. This is how my Wolfpack 325pack13 is setup currently.

I won’t be able to take any more photos with camper on til next week as my rig is 1 hour from me.

I’ll try and locate some other photos on the web. There are a lot. I spendt many weeks researching until I made the jump in 2017.

I have made several panic tire burning stops on mine without issue...but I have the steel version in a steel bed truck too.

In the meantime you can take a measurement of your king box from the rear most square to the center of the king pin. Add 4” to that and see if it will rotate inside your truck bed with the pivot moved 5” to the rear of your existing gooseneck ball.

The same can be repeated for the other direction.

This is a pretty good read.

It shows everything I’m explaining.

Awesome, thank you so much for all of your help. I’ll check those measurements in the morning. No hurry on this, the RV will be parked now for a few months without use.

Btw, how you liking the WolfPack 325/13?

Ok, I have to ask what is the king box and king pin?

This is my set up now.

Btw @Vikes79, do you have the generator on your RV, and did yours come with the Castle Rock Chinese s*** tires. They were made to pull the RV from the dealership to Cooper tires where you get Hercules 14 ply tires installed before your first actual outing. :D:D:D

I can’t believe DOT gives them a stamp. Warren Buffet must have a lot of pull in Washington.

Oddly enough I have a totally different axel setup than you do. I have 235 85 16 G rated tires on 8 lug axels.

My rig is brand brand new. I haven’t been able to use it much due to the fold out step (which after three weeks I despise). It’s down at the dealer getting a traditional 3 step pull out for the front door. I have a tight storage location and that big moryde rise up step is a pia. I’m hoping my maiden voyage is next weekend before a big run to the Black Hills over Memorial Day.

Mine had the Gen Prep, but I made the dealer add the generator. Hoping to do some dry camping this year!

I had the Caslterock tires on my 2017 Volante bunk house. They were pretty good to me. Over 5k miles no problems.
